Editorial policy

What we publish, how it is checked, and what we do when we get it wrong.

Community content

Forum threads are written by members. They are opinion and personal experience, not verified fact, and they are labelled as such. We do not fabricate member endorsements or edit posts to change their meaning.

Guides and city pages

Our city and category guides are produced in-house. Country-level context — how people meet, languages used, seasonal patterns — is stated at the level of confidence we can support. Where we cannot responsibly claim local detail, we do not invent it.

Moderation

We remove content that is illegal, targets a private individual, promotes a scam, or sexualises a minor. We do not remove criticism of platforms we have a commercial relationship with.

Corrections

Errors are corrected on the page rather than quietly deleted, and significant corrections are noted. Report one through the contact page.

Conflicts of interest

Where a page discusses a platform we earn from, that relationship is stated on the page.

Safety information

Safety guidance is written to be conservative. Where advice could affect someone's physical safety we err toward caution, and we state plainly that no online platform can verify that a person is who they claim to be.
