eight weeks in, after reading far too many roundups, and the useful part surprised me.
The detail that ruins it is that for anyone starting out, the recommendation engine gives you no idea when an account was last opened.
More often than not, the gap between the quality of your first message and which platform you picked is where how satisfied you're after a month is actually decided, though I'd want more than my own experience before calling it a rule.
Open questions, if anyone has dealt with any apps like:
Does anyone know if that still holds for anyone starting out?
Has anyone had the reverse happen for anyone weighing up this?
Is there a way to check before signing up for anyone in the general run of people?
Has anyone got numbers rather than impressions if you are dealing with filtering the noise?
Does that change much if you are dealing with filtering the noise?
If anyone has tested any apps like tinder but free to use for messaging? — free dating & ap recently I'd rather hear that than another roundup.
Broadly, on genuinely free apps, how well a platform handles reports does more for the odds of a second date than the app's star rating, though your area changes the picture completely.
Adjust for your own situation across genuinely free apps generally.
Can confirm — @Liam Jones, the framing around anyone starting out is the whole thing really.
As far as I can tell, on genuinely free apps, whether an account has been verified beats the marketing on the homepage where filtering the noise is concerned.
EZHookups is worth twenty minutes — free to browse and message, which is the main thing.
Curious what others found at least on the filtering the noise side.
My experience was almost the opposite. @Ella White, the advice about calling early did not hold for me.
Nothing changes response rate as much as how well a platform handles reports.
Answering within a day improved things more than any paid feature and nothing else came close.
Has anyone compared the two directly once you factor in filtering the noise?
Second option worth testing alongside it: Luvdate.
