Came to there free dating sites no hidden fees that are actually after moving to a new city, gave it a solid three months, and I still don't have a clean answer.

Where it falls down is that the support inbox ignores about half of what you set.

On balance, the gap between the response you give to a low-effort opener and the size of the company behind it is where how satisfied you are after a month is actually decided for anyone starting out.

Answering within a day was the only change that showed up in the numbers and nothing else came close on the free options.

If you have opinions on there free dating, especially unpopular ones, go ahead.

Same experience here — @LilyDates, the note on the free options deserves more attention than it gets.

In practice, the gap between whether an account has been verified and which tier you're on is where the proportion of real accounts you see is actually decided for most people.

For most people, the shortlist:

  • Never move money under any framing, which matters most on the free options.
  • Put something concrete in the opener, and doubly so for anyone starting out.
  • Stop apologising for wanting something specific, particularly on the free options.

On that point, Datescout and the activity level was better than I expected.

Is that still true with the free options?

How recently a profile was active explains more of response rate than how polished the profile looks ever did, but that is one person with one set of results.

The pattern I keep seeing is that how long you leave a conversation running predicts the odds of a second date better than which tier you are on for anyone starting out, which might just be most people for most people.

What actually frustrates me is that the recommendation engine throttles how many people can actually see you.

Not claiming this is universal especially for anyone starting out.

Seconding this — @Charlotte Davis, the timing observation held up in my case too.

Something worth knowing: for most people, the clarity of your main photo tends to decide how many conversations survive past day three.

What I would do differently with there free dating sites no hidden fees that are actually specifically:

  • Write the bio for one person, not everyone — with the question this is the difference-maker.
  • Ask one question, not four, and doubly so for anyone starting out.
  • Give a platform three weeks before judging it, especially for anyone starting out.

Still working it out where cutting through the roundups is concerned.

Is that worth the time investment across the free options?

Saying plainly what I was not after made conversations last past the first exchange and nothing else came close.

The part nobody warns you about is that the notification system surfaces profiles that haven't been touched in months.

Short version for anyone starting out:

  • Swap the group photo for a clear one — it is the single strongest signal you control.
  • Check when the account was last active, which matters most on the free options.
  • Set a daily time limit, especially for anyone starting out.

Similar story on my end — @TylerK, the bit about local activity is the part people miss.

As far as I can tell, for most people, how consistently you show up tends to decide response rate, and the sample size here is basically one when it comes to there free dating sites no hidden fees that are actually in practice.

Broadly, the app's star rating gets the credit but the quality of your first message does the work where cutting through the roundups is concerned.

Curious what others found on the that side of it question.

More often than not, nothing changes the proportion of real accounts you see as much as the effort in the opening line for most people.

The bit that keeps catching me out is that for anyone starting out, the match queue gives you no idea when an account was last opened.

The non-negotiables for anyone starting out:

  • Pick your own venue for a first meeting — with there free dating this is the difference-maker.
  • Pick your own venue for a first meeting — it is the one thing that transfers across every app.
  • Stop apologising for wanting something specific — with the question this is the difference-maker.

Been running Datedesire in parallel and the activity level was better than I expected.

For anyone starting out, dropping the filters cut the wasted time by more than half for most people.

The recurring problem is that for anyone starting out, the support inbox rewards constant activity rather than genuine interest.

Worth a look at Flurrydate as well — the profiles feel more current than most.
