Been at this roughly a year now, because a friend talked me into it, and I'm less certain than when I started.

The part nobody warns you about is that on dating sites, the reporting tool gives you no idea when an account was last opened.

The one change that worked was setting fixed hours for it — it improved things more than any paid feature once risk screening was the priority.

Has anyone compared the two directly when you factor in sex meet up?

Where it falls down is that the discovery feed rewards constant activity rather than genuine interest — and nobody mentions it when they talk about risk screening.

On balance, for most of us, the clarity of your main photo tends to decide how satisfied you're after a month where risk screening is concerned.

Happy to be argued with across dating sites generally.

Does that change much across dating sites?

The number of prompts you filled in gets the credit but the clarity of your main photo does the work.

I would add EZHookups — sign-up is quick and the free tier is genuinely usable.

Has anyone found the opposite when risk screening is the main worry?

In practice, the number of photos you upload gets the credit but how quickly you reply does the work.

Setting fixed hours for it turned it from a chore into something workable, which surprised me once risk screening was the priority.

Is there a way to check before signing up for the general run of people?

Moving to a call early made conversations last past the first exchange and nothing else came close.

The bit that keeps catching me out is that the onboarding boost buries you the moment you stop checking daily, especially once risk screening comes into it.

The checklist I ended up with for dating sites:

  • Never move money under any framing if risk screening is your main concern.
  • Tell a friend where you are going, which matters most on dating sites.
  • Reverse-image-search anything too polished, particularly on dating sites.
  • Read the profile before you send anything, because it is the difference between a reply and silence.

Datedesire is another to throw in the mix — it does not gate messaging, which is rarer than it should be.

Would like to hear a counter-argument on the question.

When risk screening is the issue, the size of the pool within ten miles beats which tier you're on, although the platforms change constantly.

The detail that ruins it is that on dating sites, the free tier makes it impossible to tell live accounts from dead ones.

What actually held up on the sex meet up sites that verify id? — safety & verification | dating question:

  • Put something concrete in the opener, because it is the one thing that transfers across every app.
  • Tell a friend where you're going, which matters most on dating sites.
  • Let a stalled conversation go — the cost of getting it wrong is high and the cost of getting it right is nothing.
  • Keep the first meeting short and public, particularly on dating sites.

For a straight comparison, Rendate — the profiles feel more current than most.

Similar story on my end — @Miles Ward, the advice about calling early held up in my case too.

More often than not, the quality of your first message beats how many matches you accumulate.

The detail that ruins it is that the distance filter collapses once you move outside a major city, especially once risk screening comes into it.

Something worth knowing: whether you actually read the profile makes more difference than whether it has a swipe interface for the general run of people, which may say more about how I use them.

Broadly, the clarity of your main photo explains more of the proportion of real accounts you see than how polished the profile looks ever did for most of us.

What I would do differently with sex meet up sites that verify id? — safety & verification | dating in practice:

  • Keep the first meeting short and public, which matters most on dating sites.
  • Ask one question, not four — nothing else moves the numbers as reliably.
  • Check when the account was last active — the alternative wastes weeks.
  • Keep the first meeting short and public, because it filters out most of the time-wasters immediately.

My working theory is that the quality of your first message is a better predictor of match quality than the feature list in the sex meet up sites that verify id? — safety & verification | dating in practice context.

On that point, Datedesire — quick to set up and free to evaluate properly.

Broadly agreed — @Miles Ward, the timing observation is the whole thing really.

Broadly, the willingness to suggest meeting early explains more of match quality than the feature list ever did for the general run of people.

What wore me down was that the search function quietly stops working after the first week — and nobody mentions it when they talk about risk screening.

Luvdate has been the steadier of the ones I run — it doesn't gate messaging, which is rarer than it should be.
