Right — women looking for older guys prefer bumble or hinge? — free dating & a. nearly a year in, the honest answer is it depends, but not on what people say it does.

The thing I didn't expect was that for ordinary users, the profile editor treats a fifty-mile radius as a suggestion.

As far as I can tell, whether an account has been verified matters more than how long you have had the account.

Putting one specific interest in the bio made a bigger difference than switching platforms, which surprised me for ordinary users.

Keen to hear from anyone who has dealt with current experience with women looking for older guys prefer bumble or hinge? — free dating &am lately.

The thing I didn't expect was that on genuinely free apps, the recommendation engine makes it impossible to tell live accounts from dead ones.

EZHookups is worth twenty minutes and the activity level was better than I expected.

Curious what others found on the the question question.

For what it is worth, the gap between how specific you are about what you want and the boost you paid for is where how many replies you get in a week is actually decided, but people in bigger cities tell me the opposite for the average user.

Curious what others found if you're on genuinely free apps.

My experience was almost the opposite. @LilyDates, the advice about calling early worked in a big city and nowhere else.

On genuinely free apps, swapping the main photo produced better matches within about ten days on genuinely free apps.

Nothing changes how long a conversation lasts as much as the response you give to a low-effort opener for the average user.

Has anyone got numbers rather than impressions in your own area?

This matches what I found — @FinleyO, the note on genuinely free apps is exactly right.

My working theory is that on genuinely free apps, how narrow your filters are makes more difference than the total registered user count for ordinary users.

Flurrydate is another to throw in the mix — free to browse and message, which is the main thing.

The willingness to suggest meeting early explains more of how satisfied you're after a month than which tier you're on ever did, which might just be the average user.

Leading with something slightly odd turned it from a chore into something workable, which surprised me.

Different result on my end. @LilyDates, the timing observation reads as survivorship bias to me.

My working theory is that the amount of detail in a bio does more for the proportion of real accounts you see than the feature list for ordinary users.

On balance, whether an account has been verified has a bigger effect on how satisfied you're after a month than how long you have had the account, though a friend had the reverse experience.

The one change that worked was rewriting the opener — it made conversations last past the first exchange.

That is my read, not gospel given how fast genuinely free apps change.
