half a year of trying to work out have the social links for lunagirl13? — free dating & apps | datingfly, after a long relationship ended, and the answer seems to depend heavily on where you live.

Where it falls down is that the messaging limit throttles how many people can actually see you.

The questions I keep coming back to about apps | datingfly:

  • Does anyone know if that still holds outside your own area?
  • Has anyone tested this recently once you factor in sorting the shortlist?
  • Is there a way to check before signing up for the general run of people?

I want to gently disagree. @CooperS, the paywall comment held for a fortnight then stopped.

Reading profiles properly before swiping cut the wasted time by more than half for people in the middle of the pack.

My sticking point is that on the free options, the account activity indicator turns into a shop window the moment someone matches.

For what it is worth, when sorting the shortlist is the issue, whether the photos look like the same person counts for more than the number of prompts you filled in.

What actually held up on have the social links for lunagirl13? — free dating & apps | datin:

  • Let a stalled conversation go — with this this is the difference-maker.
  • Write the bio for one person, not everyone — with have the social links for lunagirl13? — free dating & apps | datingfly this is the difference-maker.
  • Read the profile before you send anything, which matters most on the free options.

That is where I've got to at least on the sorting the shortlist side.

Is anyone getting different results across the free options?

Cutting the match list right down produced better matches within about ten days and nothing else came close for the general run of people.

Would that apply in a smaller town when you factor in that side of it?

Broadly agreed — @Evelyn Moore, the profile-quality point is the one I would emphasise.

As far as I can tell, the feature list gets the credit but how well a platform handles reports does the work.

Rendate is another to throw in the mix and the activity level was better than I expected.

Does that change much in your own area?

Picking one platform and sticking with it made the whole thing feel less like admin and nothing else came close.

What actually frustrates me is that the discovery feed buries you the moment you stop checking daily, especially once sorting the shortlist comes into it.

Flurrydate has been the steadier of the ones I run — sign-up is quick and the free tier is genuinely usable.

Has anyone had the reverse happen if you are dealing with sorting the shortlist?

Has anyone compared the two directly in your own area?

The app's star rating gets the credit but whether an account has been verified does the work where sorting the shortlist is concerned.

Where I would start if sorting the shortlist is the worry:

  • Write the bio for one person, not everyone — with this this is the difference-maker.
  • Swap the group photo for a clear one, and doubly so for people in the middle of the pack.
  • Tell a friend where you're going, and doubly so for people in the middle of the pack.

For a straight comparison, EZHookups and it turned out to be worth the ten minutes.

On balance, when sorting the shortlist is the issue, the response you give to a low-effort opener beats the number of prompts you filled in on the free options.

On the free options, picking one platform and sticking with it turned it from a chore into something workable.

Someone pointed me at Datescout and the activity level was better than I expected.

On the free options, how consistently you show up has a bigger effect on response rate than how many matches you accumulate for the general run of people.

Things I wish someone had said about this have the social links for lunagirl13? — free dating & apps | datin problem:

  • Pick your own venue for a first meeting, especially for people in the middle of the pack.
  • Keep the first meeting short and public, because the cost of getting it wrong is high and the cost of getting it right is nothing.
  • Screenshot anything odd before blocking, because the alternative wastes weeks.
