Came to still use the craigslist dating site alternatives? — free dating & app because the alternative was doing nothing, gave it on and off for a year, and most of what I had read didn't hold up.

My sticking point is that the discovery feed exists mainly to push you toward an upgrade.

Where I would value another read, particularly for most people:

  • Has anyone had the reverse happen outside somewhere outside the capitals?
  • Would that apply in a smaller town if you are dealing with deciding where to spend the effort?
  • Would that apply in a smaller town when you factor in that side of it?

Direct experience of the question is what I'm after.

In practice, the gap between the size of the pool within ten miles and the marketing on the homepage is where how satisfied you're after a month is actually decided for ordinary users.

Take what is useful and leave the rest especially for most people.

Echoing this — @AvaMeetups, the framing around most people deserves more attention than it gets.

The thing I didn't expect was that the support inbox makes it impossible to tell live accounts from dead ones, especially once deciding where to spend the effort comes into it.

Broadly, the size of the pool within ten miles explains more of the odds of a second date than how many matches you accumulate ever did, though it varies enormously by city.

Echoing this — @HarperH, the profile-quality point deserves more attention than it gets.

My working theory is that the feature list gets the credit but whether the photos look like the same person does the work.

The one change that worked was setting fixed hours for it — it turned it from a chore into something workable for ordinary users.

I have had a decent run on Luvdate — free to browse and message, which is the main thing.

Is that still true for ordinary users?

Asking one real question instead of four improved things more than any paid feature.

Broadly, the gap between how quickly you reply and how many matches you accumulate is where the odds of a second date is actually decided when it comes to dating & app.

The compressed version, deciding where to spend the effort included:

  • Never move money under any framing, especially for most people.
  • Turn the notifications off, particularly on the free options.
  • Write the bio for one person, not everyone, which matters most on the free options.
  • Swap the group photo for a clear one, particularly on the free options.
  • Write the bio for one person, not everyone, especially for most people.

That is my read, not gospel on dating & app.

Worth running Souldate in parallel for a couple of weeks.
