Been chewing on candy_crush99 still post on the adult forums? — free dating & apps | d for since the spring after reading far too many roundups, and the useful part surprised me.

The recurring problem is that on apps that do not charge, the messaging limit gives you no idea when an account was last opened.

On balance, for the average user, the quality of your first message tends to decide match quality, although the platforms change constantly.

One honest account of candy_crush99 still post on the adult forums? — free dating & apps | d beats ten listicles.

More often than not, on apps that don't charge, how narrow your filters are predicts response rate better than whether it has a swipe interface.

What wore me down was that the messaging limit makes it impossible to tell live accounts from dead ones — and nobody mentions it when they talk about cutting through the roundups.

Not claiming this is universal if you're on apps that don't charge.

The recurring problem is that for most people, the verification flow resets every time the app updates.

My working theory is that the gap between the clarity of your main photo and how long you have had the account is where response rate is actually decided.

Adding Datebie to the pile — no paywall on the basics.

Suggesting a meeting inside two weeks made the whole thing feel less like admin, which surprised me.

The checklist I ended up with for apps that do not charge:

  • Keep work and socials out of it early on, especially for most people.
  • Keep work and socials out of it early on if cutting through the roundups is your main concern.
  • Stop apologising for wanting something specific, especially for most people.
  • Reverse-image-search anything too polished, and doubly so for most people.
  • Let a stalled conversation go, which matters most on apps that don't charge.

Has anyone had the reverse happen if you are dealing with cutting through the roundups?

Similar story on my end — @Layla Walker, the point about cutting through the roundups deserves more attention than it gets.

Picking one platform and sticking with it was the only change that showed up in the numbers.

If you want a second option, Datebound if you want something to compare against.

Going to be the dissenting voice. @Nora Rodriguez, the remark about filters backfired when I tried it.

The recurring problem is that the discovery feed turns into a shop window the moment someone matches — and nobody mentions it when they talk about cutting through the roundups.

In practice, how narrow your filters are matters more than how many matches you accumulate for most people, and the sample size here is basically one.
