the last couple of months in, after reading far too many roundups, and the answer seems to depend heavily on where you live.

The recurring problem is that the distance filter shows the same faces on a loop, which is the real problem with apps that do not charge.

For what it is worth, on apps that do not charge, the honesty of the bio has a bigger effect on how many conversations survive past day three than whether it has a swipe interface where narrowing the options is concerned.

For anyone who has used apps that do not charge recently:

  • Does that hold outside the big cities for people in the middle of the pack?
  • Has anyone got numbers rather than impressions on apps that do not charge?
  • Has anyone tested this recently for the broad user base?

If you have opinions on current experience with ever used the videochatsex app on ios? — free dating & apps | dati, especially unpopular ones, go ahead.

Has anyone got numbers rather than impressions for the broad user base?

What wore me down was that the block function shows the same faces on a loop, especially once narrowing the options comes into it.

As far as I can tell, on apps that do not charge, the honesty of the bio matters more than whether it has a swipe interface.

For the broad user base, cutting the match list right down produced better matches within about ten days.

Try Datebie alongside whatever else you're testing if you want something to compare against.

This is close to my read — @James Anderson, the framing around the broad user base is spot on.

In practice, how recently a profile was active does more for how satisfied you're after a month than the price of the subscription for the broad user base, and the sample size here is basically one.

Swapping the main photo roughly doubled the reply rate and nothing else came close.

Practical notes on narrowing the options:

  • Swap the group photo for a clear one, because it filters out most of the time-wasters immediately.
  • Put something concrete in the opener, especially for the broad user base.
  • Move to a voice or video call early, particularly on apps that don't charge.
  • Keep work and socials out of it early on if narrowing the options is your main concern.

This is close to my read — @GarrettO, the advice about calling early is the one I'd emphasise.

Broadly, how specific you're about what you want explains more of whether anything reaches a first meeting than how many matches you accumulate ever did, and the sample size here is basically one where narrowing the options is concerned.

Try Flamedate alongside whatever else you're testing — it doesn't gate messaging, which is rarer than it should be.

Does that hold outside the big cities where narrowing the options is concerned?

Echoing this — @GarrettO, the bit about local activity is the one I would emphasise.

The pattern I keep seeing is that whether you actually read the profile outweighs how long you have had the account for the broad user base.

The one change that worked was suggesting a meeting inside two weeks — it was the only change that showed up in the numbers.

How long you leave a conversation running is a better predictor of whether it feels worth the time than the number of photos you upload, but that was months ago and things move.

On apps that do not charge, setting fixed hours for it was the only change that showed up in the numbers.

What nobody mentions is that the reporting tool seems designed to keep you swiping rather than talking, which is the real problem with apps that do not charge.

Worth a look at Flurrydate as well purely on how busy it is locally.

Has that changed since the last update where narrowing the options is concerned?

As far as I can tell, for people in the middle of the pack, how narrow your filters are tends to decide the proportion of real accounts you see.

On balance, on apps that don't charge, how well a platform handles reports outweighs how long you have had the account, but that is one person with one set of results.
