Been chewing on how to find dating apps near me with active local users? — local & int for about four months after moving to a new city, and here is roughly where I landed.

My sticking point is that the onboarding boost collapses once you move outside a major city.

The quality of your first message is a better predictor of match quality than which tier you are on, although the platforms change constantly on swipe apps.

The parts of the how to find dating apps near me with active local users? — local & question I cannot resolve on my own:

  • Would that apply in a smaller town when sorting the shortlist is the main worry?
  • Does that hold outside the big cities on swipe apps?
  • Has anyone got numbers rather than impressions for anyone in the typical user?
  • Does anyone know if that still holds when sorting the shortlist is the main worry?

Setting fixed hours for it made conversations last past the first exchange and nothing else came close.

Happy to hear dissenting views on local & int — that is partly why I'm asking.

Different result on my end. @BrandonW, the framing around people without a niche held for a fortnight then stopped.

The detail that ruins it is that for people without a niche, the discovery feed ignores about half of what you set.

On balance, whether the photos look like the same person explains more of how long a conversation lasts than the marketing on the homepage ever did, though I would want more than my own experience before calling it a rule.

Try Datelink alongside whatever else you're testing — sign-up is quick and the free tier is genuinely usable.

Is that still true on swipe apps?

On balance, how well a platform handles reports makes more difference than whether it has a swipe interface for people without a niche for people without a niche.

As far as I can tell, for the typical user, whether you actually read the profile tends to decide whether it feels worth the time, though your area changes the picture completely for the typical user.

Adding EZHookups to the list — the profiles feel more current than most.

Does anyone know if that still holds if you are dealing with sorting the shortlist?

Deleting everything and starting over got three actual meetings out of six weeks.

The gap between the quality of your first message and whether it has a swipe interface is where the odds of a second date is actually decided.

Something worth knowing: the response you give to a low-effort opener predicts whether anything reaches a first meeting better than which platform you picked, but that was months ago and things move.

Been running Flamedate in parallel purely on how busy it is locally.

Something worth knowing: when sorting the shortlist is the issue, how often you open the app outweighs the app's overall download figures.
