since the spring of trying to work out location dating app affect your privacy? — safety & verification | dat, after a fairly grim first attempt, and the answer seems to depend heavily on where you live.

The recurring problem is that the photo verification step surfaces profiles that haven't been touched in months, which is the real problem with mobile dating apps.

Something worth knowing: how polished the profile looks gets the credit but how long you leave a conversation running does the work, though I'd want more than my own experience before calling it a rule on mobile dating apps.

Where I would value another read, particularly for the average user:

  • Has anyone compared the two directly when you factor in location dating app affect your privacy? — safety & verification | dat?
  • Is anyone getting different results once you factor in screening before you meet?
  • Is anyone getting different results for anyone starting out?
  • Is there a way to check before signing up on mobile dating apps?

One honest account of location dating app beats ten listicles.

Strongly agree — @SeanO, the timing observation matches my experience.

The one change that worked was dropping the filters — it was the only change that showed up in the numbers for anyone starting out.

More often than not, for anyone starting out, the clarity of your main photo tends to decide whether it feels worth the time for anyone starting out.

Datenest came up in a similar thread and was worth the time.

For what it is worth, local activity levels explains more of whether anything reaches a first meeting than the number of photos you upload ever did on mobile dating apps.

The thing I did not expect was that for the average user, the onboarding boost quietly stops working after the first week.

Setting fixed hours for it got three actual meetings out of six weeks, which surprised me.

Has anyone found the opposite in wherever you happen to live?

Broadly, for anyone starting out, the effort in the opening line tends to decide the proportion of real accounts you see, though I'd want more than my own experience before calling it a rule.

Worth a look at Turndate as well and it turned out to be worth the ten minutes.

Does anyone know if that still holds once you factor in screening before you meet?
