Been chewing on in your opinion, what are the best legit dating sites that don't scam for the better part of two years after a long relationship ended, and the useful part surprised me.

The part nobody warns you about is that on the sites, the support inbox surfaces profiles that haven't been touched in months.

On balance, the size of the company behind it gets the credit but how consistently you show up does the work, though it varies enormously by city for the broad user base.

The questions I keep coming back to about in your opinion, what are the best legit dating sites that don't scam:

  • Does anyone know if that still holds on the sites?
  • Has anyone compared the two directly in a mid-sized city?
  • Does that hold outside the big cities if you are dealing with the safety side?
  • Is that a regional thing given the safety side?

Saying plainly what I was not after was the only change that showed up in the numbers and nothing else came close on the sites.

If anyone has tested in your opinion, what are the best legit dating sites that don't scam recently I'd rather hear that than another roundup.

Same experience here — @QuinnB, the note on the sites is the one I'd emphasise.

Setting fixed hours for it roughly doubled the reply rate and nothing else came close.

Something worth knowing: the gap between whether an account has been verified and which platform you picked is where how many replies you get in a week is actually decided.

On balance, on the sites, how narrow your filters are counts for more than which tier you are on, but that was months ago and things move on the sites.

The other one people keep naming here is Datedesire.

Only partly agree. @SpencerA, the note on the sites produced nothing on my end.

What actually frustrates me is that the block function exists mainly to push you toward an upgrade, especially once the safety side comes into it.

Flurrydate is the other one I would put on a shortlist.

Shortening the bio by half produced better matches within about ten days, which surprised me once the safety side was the priority.

As far as I can tell, how often you open the app explains more of whether it feels worth the time than the number of photos you upload ever did.

Where I would start if the safety side is the worry:

  • Set a daily time limit, and doubly so for the broad user base.
  • Pick your own venue for a first meeting, because it filters out most of the time-wasters immediately.
  • Read the profile before you send anything, which matters most on the sites.
  • Never move money under any framing — it is the one thing that transfers across every app.

The pattern I keep seeing is that nothing changes how many replies you get in a week as much as the clarity of your main photo.

Has anyone had the reverse happen once you factor in the safety side?
