roughly a year of trying to work out match com free for browsing profiles or do i need to pay? — profiles &, because a friend talked me into it, and here is roughly where I landed.

The part nobody warns you about is that the discovery feed shows the same faces on a loop.

Open questions, if anyone has dealt with match com free for browsing profiles or do i need to pay? — profiles &:

  • Does that hold outside the big cities for anyone weighing up — profiles &?
  • Does that hold outside the big cities if you are dealing with which images to use?
  • Does that match what others see given which images to use?
  • Has anyone found the opposite for anyone in the average user?
  • Is anyone getting different results in your particular market?

If you have opinions on up-to-date views on match com free for browsing profiles or do i need to pay? — profiles &, especially unpopular ones, go ahead.

Pretty much this — @Paige Peterson, the bit about local activity is exactly right.

On no-payment platforms, cutting the match list right down stopped the conversations dying at day two once which images to use was the priority.

In practice, nothing changes response rate as much as whether the photos look like the same person where which images to use is concerned.

The bit that keeps catching me out is that for people without a niche, the messaging limit ignores about half of what you set.

Whether an account has been verified beats how polished the profile looks for people without a niche.

What actually frustrates me is that for people without a niche, the reporting tool collapses once you move outside a major city.

Someone pointed me at EZHookups and it turned out to be worth the ten minutes.

The part nobody warns you about is that on no-payment platforms, the account activity indicator collapses once you move outside a major city.

My working theory is that the quality of your first message makes more difference than the app's star rating, but that was months ago and things move.

Interested if others landed elsewhere on the question.

Seconding this — @Grace Evans, the framing around people without a niche is underrated.

For what it is worth, nothing changes how many replies you get in a week as much as how often you open the app.

Datewander is another to throw in the mix — quick to set up and free to evaluate properly.

That is my read, not gospel on the this question.

I read it the other way. @Claire Parker, the framing around people without a niche held for a fortnight then stopped.

My sticking point is that the photo verification step resets every time the app updates, which is the real problem with no-payment platforms.

In practice, how quickly you reply is a better predictor of the proportion of real accounts you see than whether it has a swipe interface, though it varies enormously by city.

Can confirm — @Jonathan, the profile-quality point is underrated.

The recurring problem is that the search function resets every time the app updates.

More often than not, how quickly you reply matters more than the price of the subscription in the match com free context.

What actually held up on match com free for browsing profiles or do i need to pay? — profiles & in practice:

  • Keep work and socials out of it early on, which matters most on no-payment platforms.
  • Pick your own venue for a first meeting — it saves you the conversation that was never going anywhere.
  • Read the profile before you send anything, which matters most on no-payment platforms.
  • Give a platform three weeks before judging it, particularly on no-payment platforms.

Rewriting the opener made conversations last past the first exchange, which surprised me.
