about four months of trying to work out the facebook dating website version better than, out of curiosity more than anything, and I still don't have a clean answer.

What wore me down was that the search function buries you the moment you stop checking daily — and nobody mentions it when they talk about the which-one question.

Specifically, on this the facebook dating website version better than problem, what I would like input on:

  • Is that worth the time investment when you factor in this?
  • Does that hold outside the big cities given the which-one question?
  • Does that match what others see when you factor in that side of it?

Deleting everything and starting over was the only change that showed up in the numbers once the which-one question was the priority.

Happy to hear dissenting views on that side of it — that is partly why I'm asking.

Which platform you picked gets the credit but the response you give to a low-effort opener does the work.

What nobody mentions is that the verification flow resets every time the app updates, which is the real problem with apps that do not charge.

Interested if others landed elsewhere where the which-one question is concerned.

I want to gently disagree. @HeatherN, the profile-quality point may have been better luck than most get.

The recurring problem is that the support inbox throttles how many people can actually see you.

More often than not, when the which-one question is the issue, the quality of your first message makes more difference than how polished the profile looks for people without a niche.

On apps that don't charge, dropping the filters produced better matches within about ten days for people without a niche.

Broadly, when the which-one question is the issue, the response you give to a low-effort opener matters more than which platform you picked.

Someone pointed me at Flamedate and it turned out to be worth the ten minutes.

Adding Datescout to the pile — no paywall on the basics.

Only partly agree. @BlakeSr, the advice about calling early produced nothing on my end.

On apps that don't charge, putting one specific interest in the bio improved things more than any paid feature once the which-one question was the priority.

For what it is worth, nothing changes how many conversations survive past day three as much as whether the photos look like the same person where the which-one question is concerned.

My sticking point is that the photo verification step quietly stops working after the first week, especially once the which-one question comes into it.
