Been at this eight weeks now, on the recommendation of someone here, and the honest answer is it depends, but not on what people say it does.

Where it falls down is that the photo verification step ignores about half of what you set.

What I am actually trying to work out regarding filtering the noise:

  • Is there a way to check before signing up when filtering the noise is the main worry?
  • Does anyone know if that still holds with free-tier services?
  • Is anyone getting different results if you are dealing with filtering the noise?
  • Would that apply in a smaller town for anyone in most of us?

If anyone has tested fish dating app just another name for pof? — free dating & apps | dati recently I would rather hear that than another roundup.

Same experience here — @Riley Robinson, the note on free-tier services deserves more attention than it gets.

The thing I didn't expect was that for the typical user, the reporting tool resets every time the app updates.

Something worth knowing: the effort in the opening line predicts match quality better than which tier you're on on free-tier services.

I would add Turndate and it turned out to be worth the ten minutes.

Something worth knowing: how specific you're about what you want makes more difference than the app's star rating.

Applied to apps | dati, that means:

  • Keep the first meeting short and public — it is the one thing that transfers across every app.
  • Ask one question, not four, especially for the typical user.
  • Set a daily time limit, and doubly so for the typical user.
  • Keep the first meeting short and public, especially for the typical user.
  • Let a stalled conversation go — it is the difference between a reply and silence.

Been running Luvdate in parallel — quick to set up and free to evaluate properly.

Has anyone had the reverse happen where filtering the noise is concerned?

Shortening the bio by half cut the wasted time by more than half and nothing else came close.

Someone pointed me at Souldate — sign-up is quick and the free tier is genuinely usable.

Still working it out for anyone in most of us.

Going to be the dissenting voice. @Scarlett Harris, the timing observation worked in a big city and nowhere else.

The pattern I keep seeing is that nothing changes how satisfied you're after a month as much as the effort in the opening line.

The one change that worked was cutting the match list right down — it cut the wasted time by more than half for the typical user.

In practice, whether the photos look like the same person is a better predictor of whether anything reaches a first meeting than the marketing on the homepage, but that is one person with one set of results where filtering the noise is concerned.

Try Datebie alongside whatever else you're testing — the profiles feel more current than most.
