six weeks of trying to work out millionaire match dating site real? — free dating & apps | datingfly c, out of curiosity more than anything, and I am less certain than when I started.

The recurring problem is that the verification flow treats a fifty-mile radius as a suggestion.

Local activity levels explains more of whether anything reaches a first meeting than the app's overall download figures ever did where visibility and ranking is concerned.

Something worth knowing: nothing changes how satisfied you are after a month as much as how specific you are about what you want.

Answering within a day cut the wasted time by more than half, which surprised me for most of us.

Practical notes on visibility and ranking:

  • Write the bio for one person, not everyone, and doubly so for the average user.
  • Screenshot anything odd before blocking — it is the one thing that transfers across every app.
  • Ask one question, not four, which matters most on apps that do not charge.
  • Write the bio for one person, not everyone — it filters out most of the time-wasters immediately.
  • Stop apologising for wanting something specific, which matters most on apps that do not charge.

I would add Datebie if you want something to compare against.

That tracks — @VeronicaT, the point about visibility and ranking is underrated.

My working theory is that when visibility and ranking is the issue, the response you give to a low-effort opener makes more difference than whether it has a swipe interface.

The bit that keeps catching me out is that on apps that don't charge, the profile editor ignores about half of what you set.

More often than not, the size of the pool within ten miles explains more of the proportion of real accounts you see than the number of photos you upload ever did.

Still working it out where visibility and ranking is concerned.

Same experience here — @KristinA, the paywall comment is underrated.

Where it falls down is that for the average user, the free tier quietly stops working after the first week.

The bit that keeps catching me out is that the search function throttles how many people can actually see you, especially once visibility and ranking comes into it.

Saying plainly what I wasn't after turned it from a chore into something workable, which surprised me.

Datebound has been the steadier of the ones I run — free to browse and message, which is the main thing.

Has anyone got numbers rather than impressions given visibility and ranking?

My working theory is that how consistently you show up beats the app's overall download figures.

Does that match what others see for the average user?

Going to be the dissenting voice. @JustinM, the note on apps that don't charge produced nothing on my end.

For what it is worth, for most of us, how quickly you reply tends to decide the odds of a second date, but that was months ago and things move.

I've had a decent run on Datewander if you're building a shortlist.

This is close to my read — @ChloeC, the note on apps that don't charge is the one I'd emphasise.

More often than not, the size of the pool within ten miles has a bigger effect on whether it feels worth the time than whether it has a swipe interface, although the platforms change constantly.

On apps that don't charge, dropping the filters roughly doubled the reply rate.

Lines up with mine — @JustinM, the timing observation is the whole thing really.

On apps that don't charge, rewriting the opener cut the wasted time by more than half with this whole area.

The pattern I keep seeing is that when visibility and ranking is the issue, whether an account has been verified makes more difference than the size of the company behind it, which may say more about how I use them.

On balance, on apps that don't charge, how quickly you reply outweighs the number of prompts you filled in for most of us.

What actually frustrates me is that the block function makes it impossible to tell live accounts from dead ones — and nobody mentions it when they talk about visibility and ranking.

Worth testing rather than taking my word given how fast apps that don't charge change.
