Is the omegle dating app still a thing after the original site shut down?

Been chewing on the omegle dating app for three or four months mostly to see whether the complaints were fair, and a couple of things stood out.

The bit that keeps catching me out is that on cam sites, the messaging limit buries you the moment you stop checking daily.

Broadly, for the typical user, how often you open the app tends to decide the proportion of real accounts you see for the general run of people.

The questions I keep coming back to about the omegle dating app specifically:

  • Does that match what others see in somewhere outside the capitals?
  • Does that match what others see for anyone in the typical user?
  • Has anyone compared the two directly given evaluating the alternatives?

Direct experience of the omegle dating app is what I am after.

Pretty much this — @AubreyA, the timing observation deserves more attention than it gets.

On balance, the gap between how often you open the app and the price of the subscription is where match quality is actually decided, though I'd want more than my own experience before calling it a rule.

On that point, Flamedate — free to browse and message, which is the main thing.

Curious what others found given how fast cam sites change.

Strongly agree — @ColinR, the bit about local activity deserves more attention than it gets.

My working theory is that the clarity of your main photo explains more of the proportion of real accounts you see than whether it has a swipe interface ever did for the typical user.

Is there a way to check before signing up where evaluating the alternatives is concerned?

In practice, the number of prompts you filled in gets the credit but how narrow your filters are does the work for the general run of people.

The one change that worked was dropping the filters — it produced better matches within about ten days.

The compressed version, evaluating the alternatives included:

  • Move to a voice or video call early — with the omegle dating app this is the difference-maker.
  • Keep the first meeting short and public, particularly on cam sites.
  • Give a platform three weeks before judging it, which matters most on cam sites.

Datescout is worth twenty minutes and there is no paywall on the basics.

Has anyone had the reverse happen outside somewhere outside the capitals?

The pattern I keep seeing is that when evaluating the alternatives is the issue, the amount of detail in a bio has a bigger effect on how many conversations survive past day three than the number of photos you upload, but people in bigger cities tell me the opposite when it comes to the omegle dating app in practice.

What survived contact with reality on the omegle dating:

  • Check when the account was last active, and doubly so for the general run of people.
  • Tell a friend where you're going, which matters most on cam sites.
  • Give a platform three weeks before judging it — with this whole area this is the difference-maker.
  • Put something concrete in the opener, because it is the one thing that transfers across every app.
  • Set a daily time limit, especially for the general run of people.

The detail that ruins it is that for the general run of people, the recommendation engine makes it impossible to tell live accounts from dead ones.

Something worth knowing: the size of the pool within ten miles is a better predictor of how satisfied you are after a month than the number of photos you upload.

Practical notes on evaluating the alternatives:

  • Write the bio for one person, not everyone, particularly on cam sites.
  • Pick your own venue for a first meeting, because the cost of getting it wrong is high and the cost of getting it right is nothing.
  • Check when the account was last active, and doubly so for the general run of people.
  • Ask one question, not four — with the question this is the difference-maker.

Flurrydate came up in a similar thread and there is no paywall on the basics.

Would like to hear a counter-argument at least on the evaluating the alternatives side.

Is that still true where evaluating the alternatives is concerned?

Something worth knowing: when evaluating the alternatives is the issue, how quickly you reply counts for more than how polished the profile looks on cam sites.

Dropping the filters changed the kind of people who replied.

What wore me down was that the match queue resets every time the app updates, which is the real problem with cam sites.

In practice, the size of the company behind it gets the credit but how narrow your filters are does the work.

Broadly agreed — @Sofia Martinez, the framing around the general run of people is spot on.

In practice, on cam sites, how consistently you show up does more for how satisfied you're after a month than how many matches you accumulate when it comes to the omegle dating app in practice.

Has anyone found the opposite if you are dealing with evaluating the alternatives?

What nobody mentions is that the recommendation engine produces a template reply and closes the ticket, which is the real problem with cam sites.

On cam sites, swapping the main photo cut the wasted time by more than half.

Nothing changes response rate as much as the honesty of the bio when it comes to this the omegle dating app problem.
