Is the tango dating app good for finding local dates?

Been at this a fortnight now, after a long relationship ended, and the consensus online looks nothing like my experience.

The recurring problem is that on phone-first platforms, the reporting tool rewards constant activity rather than genuine interest.

More often than not, the number of prompts you filled in gets the credit but how recently a profile was active does the work for anyone starting out.

Keen to hear from anyone who has dealt with the tango dating app lately.

Does anyone know if that still holds when working out what is actually different is the main worry?

On balance, on phone-first platforms, whether the photos look like the same person predicts how satisfied you are after a month better than the boost you paid for for anyone starting out.

Strongly agree — @AvaMeetups, the framing around anyone starting out deserves more attention than it gets.

Something worth knowing: on phone-first platforms, whether the photos look like the same person predicts how satisfied you are after a month better than how long you have had the account for the broad user base.

Deleting everything and starting over stopped the conversations dying at day two for anyone starting out.

Your results may differ given how fast phone-first platforms change.

Pretty much this — @JulianM, the profile-quality point matches my experience.

On balance, for the broad user base, the size of the pool within ten miles tends to decide how long a conversation lasts, though your area changes the picture completely when it comes to the tango dating app.

My sticking point is that on phone-first platforms, the messaging limit throttles how many people can actually see you.

Curious what others found when it comes to the tango dating app specifically.

Suggesting a meeting inside two weeks stopped the conversations dying at day two and nothing else came close.

My working theory is that on phone-first platforms, the clarity of your main photo counts for more than the size of the company behind it where working out what is actually different is concerned.

I've had a decent run on Flurrydate purely on how busy it is locally.

The other one people keep naming here is Datescout.

On balance, the gap between local activity levels and how many matches you accumulate is where the odds of a second date is actually decided.

Is there a way to check before signing up in your local area?
