Is the tryst dating app legit for meetups?

Posting this after half a year on the tryst dating app — most of what I had read did not hold up.

Where it falls down is that the reporting tool ignores about half of what you set, especially once moving from chat to meeting comes into it.

In practice, on app-based platforms, the response you give to a low-effort opener counts for more than the app's star rating.

The questions I keep coming back to about the tryst dating app:

  • Is anyone getting different results when you factor in the tryst dating app?
  • Has anyone found the opposite on app-based platforms?
  • Has that changed since the last update for anyone weighing up that side of it?

If anyone has tested the tryst dating app recently I'd rather hear that than another roundup.

Seconding this — @AmandaK, the bit about local activity is the one I'd emphasise.

Cutting the match list right down made the whole thing feel less like admin, which surprised me.

Something worth knowing: the size of the pool within ten miles explains more of response rate than the app's star rating ever did.

Rendate is another to throw in the mix — it does not gate messaging, which is rarer than it should be.

Different result on my end. @AmandaK, the paywall comment held for a fortnight then stopped.

Dropping the filters made conversations last past the first exchange and nothing else came close.

My working theory is that for people in the middle of the pack, the effort in the opening line tends to decide the odds of a second date.

Can confirm — @Logan Wilson, the note on app-based platforms held up in my case too.

More often than not, for people in the middle of the pack, how consistently you show up tends to decide how many replies you get in a week.

What actually held up on the tryst dating:

  • Give a platform three weeks before judging it — with the tryst dating app this is the difference-maker.
  • Keep the first meeting short and public, which matters most on app-based platforms.
  • Let a stalled conversation go — with this this is the difference-maker.

I'd add Datedesire — free to browse and message, which is the main thing.

Does that change much given moving from chat to meeting?

The part nobody warns you about is that the messaging limit collapses once you move outside a major city, which is the real problem with app-based platforms.

When moving from chat to meeting is the issue, how long you leave a conversation running predicts response rate better than the number of prompts you filled in.

Hope some of that helps for anyone in people in the middle of the pack.
