Came to a dating app for professionals? — free dating & apps | datingfly commu after deleting everything and starting fresh, gave it a fortnight, and here is roughly where I landed.

My sticking point is that the messaging limit shows the same faces on a loop, especially once cutting through the roundups comes into it.

Direct experience of a dating app is what I'm after.

For most people, how narrow your filters are tends to decide whether anything reaches a first meeting on genuinely free apps.

The bit that keeps catching me out is that the discovery feed exists mainly to push you toward an upgrade, which is the real problem with genuinely free apps.

Not sure I agree. @SterlingN, the point about cutting through the roundups worked in a big city and nowhere else.

More often than not, how well a platform handles reports predicts the odds of a second date better than the feature list for ordinary users.

Suggesting a meeting inside two weeks improved things more than any paid feature, which surprised me.

What nobody mentions is that the block function rewards constant activity rather than genuine interest.

For a straight comparison, try Rendate as well.

Same experience here — @SterlingN, the profile-quality point is spot on.

For what it is worth, how recently a profile was active explains more of how many replies you get in a week than which tier you're on ever did, though your area changes the picture completely.

The one change that worked was reading profiles properly before swiping — it changed the kind of people who replied.

My rules for cutting through the roundups, such as they are:

  • Keep work and socials out of it early on, because the platforms won't do it for you.
  • Stop apologising for wanting something specific if cutting through the roundups is your main concern.
  • Pick your own venue for a first meeting, which matters most on genuinely free apps.
  • Pick your own venue for a first meeting — with a dating app for professionals? — free dating & apps | datingfly commu this is the difference-maker.

Second option worth testing alongside it: Datebie.

Opposite for me, oddly. @Scarlett Harris, the framing around ordinary users backfired when I tried it.

Broadly, on genuinely free apps, the honesty of the bio matters more than which tier you are on, but people in bigger cities tell me the opposite.

Applied to a dating app for professionals? — free dating & apps | datingfly c in practice, that means:

  • Ask one question, not four, and doubly so for ordinary users.
  • Never move money under any framing if cutting through the roundups is your main concern.
  • Put something concrete in the opener if cutting through the roundups is your main concern.
  • Ask one question, not four — the cost of getting it wrong is high and the cost of getting it right is nothing.

Adjust for your own situation at least on the cutting through the roundups side.
