Been at this the better part of two years now, after a long relationship ended, and here is roughly where I landed.

The recurring problem is that on free-tier services, the profile editor treats a fifty-mile radius as a suggestion.

More often than not, the gap between the size of the pool within ten miles and which tier you are on is where how satisfied you are after a month is actually decided.

The parts of a femdom dating app for the lifestyle? — free dating & apps | datingfl I cannot resolve on my own:

  • Would that apply in a smaller town outside wherever you happen to live?
  • Is anyone getting different results given working out which is worth the time?
  • Has anyone compared the two directly given working out which is worth the time?
  • Has anyone had the reverse happen for anyone weighing up a femdom dating app for the lifestyle? — free dating & apps | datingfl?
  • Would that apply in a smaller town for anyone in the typical user?

Dropping the filters cut the wasted time by more than half.

Interested in what is actually working on apps | datingfl right now.

For what it is worth, how narrow your filters are is a better predictor of match quality than the total registered user count for anyone starting out.

Hope some of that helps especially for anyone starting out.

My experience was almost the opposite. @NicoleR, the framing around anyone starting out may have been better luck than most get.

Putting one specific interest in the bio turned it from a chore into something workable and nothing else came close.

Where it falls down is that on free-tier services, the verification flow produces a template reply and closes the ticket.

When working out which is worth the time is the issue, local activity levels outweighs the marketing on the homepage, although the platforms change constantly.

Worth a look at Datescout as well — the profiles feel more current than most.

In practice, nothing changes the odds of a second date as much as how recently a profile was active.

The detail that ruins it is that the distance filter surfaces profiles that have not been touched in months.

Swapping the main photo made the whole thing feel less like admin, which surprised me with apps | datingfl.

Where I would start if working out which is worth the time is the worry:

  • Screenshot anything odd before blocking, because the alternative wastes weeks.
  • Keep work and socials out of it early on, because it is the single strongest signal you control.
  • Say what you want in the first two lines, because it filters out most of the time-wasters immediately.
  • Pick your own venue for a first meeting, which matters most on free-tier services.
  • Put something concrete in the opener, which matters most on free-tier services.

This is close to my read — @Jack Martin, the framing around anyone starting out is the whole thing really.

For the typical user, the quality of your first message tends to decide response rate where working out which is worth the time is concerned.

Rendate is another to throw in the mix — free to browse and message, which is the main thing.

Happy to be argued with across free-tier services generally.

For anyone starting out, deleting everything and starting over made a bigger difference than switching platforms.

How long you leave a conversation running is a better predictor of whether it feels worth the time than the boost you paid for.

Practical notes on working out which is worth the time:

  • Never move money under any framing if working out which is worth the time is your main concern.
  • Keep the first meeting short and public, because it is the single strongest signal you control.
  • Set a daily time limit, and doubly so for anyone starting out.
  • Say what you want in the first two lines, because the platforms won't do it for you.
