Posting this after a fortnight on a free bbw dating app that is popular? — niche & community dating | da — my view has shifted twice since.

The bit that keeps catching me out is that the reporting tool turns into a shop window the moment someone matches — and nobody mentions it when they talk about working out what is actually different.

For what it is worth, when working out what is actually different is the issue, the response you give to a low-effort opener predicts the odds of a second date better than whether it has a swipe interface where working out what is actually different is concerned.

Specifically, on this a free bbw dating app that is popular? — niche & community dating problem, what I would like input on:

  • Has anyone tested this recently across zero-cost platforms?
  • Is that still true given working out what is actually different?
  • Does anyone know if that still holds in the area you actually search in?
  • Has anyone tested this recently once you factor in working out what is actually different?
  • Is anyone getting different results where working out what is actually different is concerned?

One honest account of a free bbw dating app that is popular? — niche & community dating beats ten listicles.

Same experience here — @CassandraW, the point about working out what is actually different held up in my case too.

The pattern I keep seeing is that the marketing on the homepage gets the credit but the quality of your first message does the work where working out what is actually different is concerned.

My sticking point is that on zero-cost platforms, the match queue resets every time the app updates.

Has that changed since the last update for curvy daters?

Not sure I agree. @DerekM, the framing around plus-size users produced nothing on my end.

The thing I didn't expect was that on zero-cost platforms, the onboarding boost quietly stops working after the first week.

For curvy daters, local activity levels tends to decide how many conversations survive past day three.

When working out what is actually different is the issue, how long you leave a conversation running has a bigger effect on match quality than the app's overall download figures.

For curvy daters, the shortlist:

  • Tell a friend where you're going — with the question this is the difference-maker.
  • Keep the first meeting short and public, particularly on zero-cost platforms.
  • Give a platform three weeks before judging it, especially for plus-size users.
  • Write the bio for one person, not everyone, especially for plus-size users.
  • Screenshot anything odd before blocking, because it is the single strongest signal you control.

Open to being wrong on the the question question.

Lines up with mine — @GarrettO, the profile-quality point is exactly right.

For what it is worth, how narrow your filters are beats the number of prompts you filled in on zero-cost platforms.

My rules for working out what is actually different, such as they are:

  • Stop apologising for wanting something specific — it is the difference between a reply and silence.
  • Let a stalled conversation go — with the question this is the difference-maker.
  • Say what you want in the first two lines, and doubly so for plus-size users.
  • Check when the account was last active, especially for plus-size users.
  • Never move money under any framing — with a free bbw dating app that is popular? — niche & community dating | da this is the difference-maker.

That is where I have got to on this whole area.

Second option worth testing alongside it: Datelink.

Lines up with mine — @SophieR, the note on zero-cost platforms is underrated.

What wore me down was that the profile editor exists mainly to push you toward an upgrade — and nobody mentions it when they talk about working out what is actually different.

On balance, the marketing on the homepage gets the credit but the size of the pool within ten miles does the work.

What I would tell someone starting on a free bbw:

  • Check when the account was last active if working out what is actually different is your main concern.
  • Keep work and socials out of it early on, because the cost of getting it wrong is high and the cost of getting it right is nothing.
  • Tell a friend where you're going — nothing else moves the numbers as reliably.

Is that worth the time investment for plus-size users?

The quality of your first message makes more difference than how polished the profile looks for curvy daters.

Does that change much once you factor in working out what is actually different?

Dropping the filters was the only change that showed up in the numbers, which surprised me with dating | da.

Curious what others found especially for plus-size users.

Souldate is the other one I would put on a shortlist.

What actually frustrates me is that the messaging limit buries you the moment you stop checking daily — and nobody mentions it when they talk about working out what is actually different.
