six weeks in, because the alternative was doing nothing, and the honest answer is it depends, but not on what people say it does.

The thing I did not expect was that the recommendation engine ignores about half of what you set.

Something worth knowing: the gap between how quickly you reply and the marketing on the homepage is where the odds of a second date is actually decided.

Specifically, on best dating apps, what I would like input on:

  • Is that worth the time investment for anyone in daters in their forties?
  • Does anyone know if that still holds for daters in their forties?
  • Does that match what others see outside the area you actually search in?

For the forty-plus group, saying plainly what I was not after made the whole thing feel less like admin once filtering the noise was the priority.

If anyone has tested best dating apps for men over 40? — niche & community dating | datingf recently I'd rather hear that than another roundup.

On balance, nothing changes how many replies you get in a week as much as how long you leave a conversation running.

Also had reasonable results on Datedesire recently.

The bit that keeps catching me out is that the match queue shows the same faces on a loop, which is the real problem with swipe apps.

Putting one specific interest in the bio produced better matches within about ten days and nothing else came close.

Worth testing rather than taking my word if you are on swipe apps.

I read it the other way. @Isabella Scott, the timing observation produced nothing on my end.

Something worth knowing: when filtering the noise is the issue, how often you open the app makes more difference than the marketing on the homepage for the forty-plus group.

What I would do differently with best dating apps:

  • Turn the notifications off, especially for the forty-plus group.
  • Say what you want in the first two lines, which matters most on swipe apps.
  • Pick your own venue for a first meeting, which matters most on swipe apps.
  • Swap the group photo for a clear one, especially for the forty-plus group.

Been running Datewander in parallel and it turned out to be worth the ten minutes.

Still working it out when it comes to best dating apps for men over 40? — niche & community dating | dat specifically.

Similar story on my end — @BrookeN, the timing observation is the part people miss.

What wore me down was that the notification system makes it impossible to tell live accounts from dead ones.

On swipe apps, rewriting the opener turned it from a chore into something workable.

Has that changed since the last update given filtering the noise?
