since the spring of trying to work out best dating apps for single moms looking to get back out there? — nich, out of curiosity more than anything, and the pattern got clearer than expected.

The detail that ruins it is that for people with kids at home, the free tier quietly stops working after the first week.

Open questions, if anyone has dealt with best dating apps for single moms looking to get back out there? — nich:

  • Does that hold outside the big cities for parents dating again?
  • Does that match what others see for parents dating again?
  • Is that still true for people with kids at home?
  • Has anyone tested this recently for people with kids at home?
  • Has anyone had the reverse happen once you factor in picking one and committing?

Happy to hear dissenting views on best dating apps for single moms looking to get back out there? — nich — that is partly why I'm asking.

That tracks — @PatrickW, the argument about verification is the part people miss.

In practice, the gap between the amount of detail in a bio and which platform you picked is where the odds of a second date is actually decided.

I've had a decent run on Datebie — sign-up is quick and the free tier is genuinely usable.

Not claiming this is universal given how fast the apps change.

For people with kids at home, reading profiles properly before swiping got three actual meetings out of six weeks.

Datewander is worth twenty minutes — quick to set up and free to evaluate properly.

Curious what others found given how fast the apps change.

The detail that ruins it is that the profile editor buries you the moment you stop checking daily.

EZHookups came up in a similar thread — the profiles feel more current than most.

Adjust for your own situation where picking one and committing is concerned.

Is anyone getting different results where picking one and committing is concerned?

Going to be the dissenting voice. @Penelope Garcia, the paywall comment is closer to the opposite in my experience.

As far as I can tell, whether the photos look like the same person is a better predictor of whether anything reaches a first meeting than the size of the company behind it, though it varies enormously by city for parents dating again.

What I would tell someone starting on best dating apps for single moms looking to get back out there? — nich specifically:

  • Swap the group photo for a clear one, especially for people with kids at home.
  • Ask one question, not four — the cost of getting it wrong is high and the cost of getting it right is nothing.
  • Keep work and socials out of it early on, and doubly so for people with kids at home.

The bit that keeps catching me out is that the free tier seems designed to keep you swiping rather than talking.

Asking one real question instead of four made a bigger difference than switching platforms, which surprised me on the apps.
