Been at this an embarrassing amount of time now, after reading far too many roundups, and my view has shifted twice since.

The detail that ruins it is that the onboarding boost collapses once you move outside a major city — and nobody mentions it when they talk about choosing between platforms.

The parts of this best free dating apps for relationships? — free dating & apps | da problem I cannot resolve on my own:

  • Has anyone got numbers rather than impressions on the free options?
  • Is there a way to check before signing up given choosing between platforms?
  • Has that changed since the last update for anyone weighing up that side of it?
  • Is that a regional thing for anyone in ordinary users?

Any recent, first-hand input on best free dating apps for relationships? — free dating & apps | dating appreciated.

Is that still true outside your own area?

More often than not, for ordinary users, local activity levels tends to decide whether anything reaches a first meeting.

What I would do differently with the best free dating apps for relationships? — free dating & apps | da question:

  • Read the profile before you send anything if choosing between platforms is your main concern.
  • Tell a friend where you are going — with this this is the difference-maker.
  • Check when the account was last active if choosing between platforms is your main concern.

I'd frame that differently. @Abigail Taylor, the remark about filters backfired when I tried it.

Something worth knowing: when choosing between platforms is the issue, local activity levels counts for more than the app's overall download figures.

Would like to hear a counter-argument at least on the choosing between platforms side.

That isn't how it went for me. @Abigail Taylor, the note on the free options backfired when I tried it.

Putting one specific interest in the bio made conversations last past the first exchange and nothing else came close.

Something worth knowing: for ordinary users, the quality of your first message tends to decide match quality for the general run of people.

Not sure I agree. @Abigail Taylor, the bit about local activity may have been better luck than most get.

The thing I did not expect was that the recommendation engine exists mainly to push you toward an upgrade, which is the real problem with the free options.

Datebie is quick to set up if you want a second data point.

Does that change much across the free options?

Something worth knowing: for ordinary users, the honesty of the bio tends to decide how satisfied you are after a month.

Your results may differ if you're on the free options.

Second option worth testing alongside it: Datedesire.
