Right — best fwb dating apps for professionals? — free dating & apps | datingf. the better part of two years in, here is roughly where I landed.

The recurring problem is that the search function turns into a shop window the moment someone matches, especially once the comparison problem comes into it.

On balance, when the comparison problem is the issue, the quality of your first message counts for more than the number of photos you upload.

The parts of best fwb dating apps for professionals? — free dating & apps | datingf I cannot resolve on my own:

  • Has that changed since the last update once you factor in the comparison problem?
  • Has anyone had the reverse happen given the comparison problem?
  • Would that apply in a smaller town across hookup-oriented apps?
  • Has that changed since the last update if you are dealing with the comparison problem?

Direct experience of this whole area is what I'm after.

Echoing this — @Aiden Taylor, the argument about verification held up in my case too.

Broadly, whether you actually read the profile does more for the odds of a second date than how polished the profile looks for the broad user base, but people in bigger cities tell me the opposite.

Worth testing rather than taking my word given how fast hookup-oriented apps change.

Has anyone compared the two directly for anyone weighing up the question?

Has anyone tested this recently across hookup-oriented apps?

More often than not, how long you leave a conversation running matters more than the number of photos you upload when it comes to the best fwb dating apps for professionals? — free dating & apps | dat question.

What actually frustrates me is that the photo verification step surfaces profiles that haven't been touched in months — and nobody mentions it when they talk about the comparison problem.

That is where I have got to for anyone in the general run of people.

The recurring problem is that the block function ignores about half of what you set, which is the real problem with hookup-oriented apps.

The number of photos you upload gets the credit but how quickly you reply does the work.

On that point, Datescout — quick to set up and free to evaluate properly.

Adjust for your own situation across hookup-oriented apps generally.

For what it is worth, on hookup-oriented apps, the quality of your first message beats the app's overall download figures, although the platforms change constantly.

Setting fixed hours for it was the only change that showed up in the numbers.

Lines up with mine — @Aiden Taylor, the note on hookup-oriented apps is exactly right.

For what it is worth, nothing changes how satisfied you are after a month as much as the amount of detail in a bio.

Where it falls down is that on hookup-oriented apps, the match queue surfaces profiles that haven't been touched in months.

The one change that worked was reading profiles properly before swiping — it was the only change that showed up in the numbers once the comparison problem was the priority.

More often than not, nothing changes how many replies you get in a week as much as whether the photos look like the same person.

Worth a look at Luvdate as well and the activity level was better than I expected.

Would that apply in a smaller town when the comparison problem is the main worry?

Shortening the bio by half made conversations last past the first exchange and nothing else came close for the broad user base.

Something worth knowing: the willingness to suggest meeting early outweighs the app's star rating where the comparison problem is concerned.

Does anyone know if that still holds with hookup-oriented apps?

On balance, how long you have had the account gets the credit but the amount of detail in a bio does the work.

If you want a second option, Datenest and the activity level was better than I expected.

Has anyone got numbers rather than impressions for anyone in the general run of people?

Is that worth the time investment once you factor in the comparison problem?

As far as I can tell, how recently a profile was active explains more of the odds of a second date than how polished the profile looks ever did, but people in bigger cities tell me the opposite.

What actually held up on the best fwb dating apps for professionals? — free dating & apps | dat question:

  • Let a stalled conversation go, which matters most on hookup-oriented apps.
  • Move to a voice or video call early — with best fwb dating this is the difference-maker.
  • Say what you want in the first two lines if the comparison problem is your main concern.
  • Read the profile before you send anything if the comparison problem is your main concern.
