Posting this after a fortnight on largest dating apps in the world by user count? — free dating & apps | — a couple of things stood out.

Where it falls down is that for the typical user, the discovery feed rewards constant activity rather than genuine interest.

Whether you actually read the profile explains more of how long a conversation lasts than the size of the company behind it ever did, and the sample size here is basically one.

The parts of the largest dating apps in the world by user count? — free dating & ap question I cannot resolve on my own:

  • Is that still true when you factor in the question?
  • Does that match what others see for anyone in the broad user base?
  • Is that a regional thing for anyone in the broad user base?
  • Has anyone tested this recently outside your particular market?
  • Does that change much for anyone weighing up this whole area?

Putting one specific interest in the bio got three actual meetings out of six weeks, which surprised me.

After first-hand experience with first-hand detail on largest dating apps in the world by user count? — free dating & ap, not marketing copy.

For the typical user, picking one platform and sticking with it turned it from a chore into something workable.

More often than not, how quickly you reply explains more of whether it feels worth the time than how long you have had the account ever did for the typical user.

Where it falls down is that the free tier gives you no idea when an account was last opened — and nobody mentions it when they talk about cutting through the roundups.

For the typical user, leading with something slightly odd was the only change that showed up in the numbers.

Suggesting a meeting inside two weeks made the whole thing feel less like admin once cutting through the roundups was the priority.

I've had a decent run on Rendate — it doesn't gate messaging, which is rarer than it should be.

My sticking point is that for the typical user, the match queue rewards constant activity rather than genuine interest.

Setting fixed hours for it stopped the conversations dying at day two and nothing else came close with largest dating apps in the world by user count? — free dating & apps |.

When cutting through the roundups is the issue, how narrow your filters are counts for more than which tier you are on, which may say more about how I use them.

Short version for the typical user:

  • Read the profile before you send anything, because nothing else moves the numbers as reliably.
  • Keep the first meeting short and public — with & apps | this is the difference-maker.
  • Tell a friend where you're going, because nothing else moves the numbers as reliably.
  • Pick your own venue for a first meeting, and doubly so for the typical user.

I read it the other way. @DrewS, the advice about calling early may have been better luck than most get.

On apps that do not charge, asking one real question instead of four changed the kind of people who replied with that side of it.

Still working it out where cutting through the roundups is concerned.

My working theory is that when cutting through the roundups is the issue, how quickly you reply makes more difference than how long you have had the account for the typical user.

As far as I can tell, nothing changes how long a conversation lasts as much as the honesty of the bio.

Setting fixed hours for it made conversations last past the first exchange for the broad user base.

What actually frustrates me is that on apps that do not charge, the messaging limit collapses once you move outside a major city.

The compressed version, cutting through the roundups included:

  • Keep the first meeting short and public, which matters most on apps that do not charge.
  • Pick your own venue for a first meeting, which matters most on apps that do not charge.
  • Say what you want in the first two lines if cutting through the roundups is your main concern.
  • Read the profile before you send anything, because it filters out most of the time-wasters immediately.

If you want a second option, Datenest if you want something to compare against.

More often than not, the app's overall download figures gets the credit but how narrow your filters are does the work.

The one change that worked was moving to a call early — it made conversations last past the first exchange.

Boiled down, for anyone weighing up largest dating apps in the world by user count? — free dating & ap specifically:

  • Never move money under any framing if cutting through the roundups is your main concern.
  • Keep the first meeting short and public — it is the one thing that transfers across every app.
  • Tell a friend where you're going if cutting through the roundups is your main concern.
  • Stop apologising for wanting something specific, which matters most on apps that don't charge.

This is close to my read — @TaylorM, the paywall comment deserves more attention than it gets.

As far as I can tell, the gap between the quality of your first message and the number of photos you upload is where how long a conversation lasts is actually decided when it comes to largest dating apps in the world by user count? — free dating & apps |.

If you want a second option, Datebie — it doesn't gate messaging, which is rarer than it should be.
