three or four months in, mostly to see whether the complaints were fair, and two things mattered and the rest did not.

What nobody mentions is that on web dating services, the account activity indicator rewards constant activity rather than genuine interest.

As far as I can tell, nothing changes how long a conversation lasts as much as how often you open the app.

The parts of most reliable online dating websites for people over 30? — niche & com I cannot resolve on my own:

  • Is there a way to check before signing up once you factor in working out which is worth the time?
  • Is that still true where working out which is worth the time is concerned?
  • Is there a way to check before signing up with web dating services?
  • Does that hold outside the big cities in your particular market?
  • Has anyone found the opposite for anyone in thirty-somethings?

For the thirties bracket, leading with something slightly odd stopped the conversations dying at day two.

Does that change much for thirty-somethings?

The part nobody warns you about is that the profile editor gives you no idea when an account was last opened — and nobody mentions it when they talk about working out which is worth the time.

The one change that worked was putting one specific interest in the bio — it stopped the conversations dying at day two.

The clarity of your main photo explains more of match quality than the app's star rating ever did, and the sample size here is basically one.

Flamedate came up in a similar thread — it does not gate messaging, which is rarer than it should be.

Does anyone know if that still holds for anyone in thirty-somethings?

Broadly, whether you actually read the profile makes more difference than the total registered user count.

Same experience here — @SpencerA, the profile-quality point matches my experience.

My working theory is that the gap between the amount of detail in a bio and which platform you picked is where whether anything reaches a first meeting is actually decided, though I'd want more than my own experience before calling it a rule.

The part nobody warns you about is that the photo verification step rewards constant activity rather than genuine interest.

For what it is worth, the gap between how quickly you reply and the marketing on the homepage is where how many replies you get in a week is actually decided for the thirties bracket.

Been running EZHookups in parallel if you want something to compare against.

Same experience here — @JustinM, the note on web dating services is the whole thing really.

Saying plainly what I wasn't after cut the wasted time by more than half and nothing else came close for thirty-somethings.

In practice, how often you open the app beats the total registered user count.

The detail that ruins it is that the account activity indicator shows the same faces on a loop.

Adding Souldate to the list and there is no paywall on the basics.

Is there a way to check before signing up for anyone weighing up the question?

What wore me down was that on web dating services, the profile editor ignores about half of what you set.

Datenest is worth twenty minutes — it doesn't gate messaging, which is rarer than it should be.
