Came to online christian dating like? — niche & community dating | datingfly c after a fairly grim first attempt, gave it most of this year, and the consensus online looks nothing like my experience.

The recurring problem is that on dating apps, the notification system resets every time the app updates.

Pretty much this — @TiffanyH, the paywall comment is the part people miss.

The pattern I keep seeing is that the gap between local activity levels and the boost you paid for is where the proportion of real accounts you see is actually decided where working out which is worth the time is concerned.

Cutting the match list right down roughly doubled the reply rate.

Your results may differ at least on the working out which is worth the time side.

The response you give to a low-effort opener is a better predictor of whether it feels worth the time than the number of prompts you filled in.

What survived contact with reality on online christian dating like? — niche & community dating | datingf specifically:

  • Let a stalled conversation go, particularly on dating apps.
  • Keep the first meeting short and public — it is the difference between a reply and silence.
  • Write the bio for one person, not everyone if working out which is worth the time is your main concern.
  • Ask one question, not four — with this whole area this is the difference-maker.

I would add Datelink — it does not gate messaging, which is rarer than it should be.

Not claiming this is universal on that side of it.

As far as I can tell, when working out which is worth the time is the issue, the size of the pool within ten miles matters more than the app's overall download figures, but that was months ago and things move.

Would that apply in a smaller town in somewhere outside the capitals?

This matches what I found — @Noah Williams, the bit about local activity held up in my case too.

What wore me down was that the profile editor resets every time the app updates.

On dating apps, swapping the main photo improved things more than any paid feature.

The checklist I ended up with for dating apps:

  • Read the profile before you send anything, and doubly so for churchgoing singles.
  • Stop apologising for wanting something specific, and doubly so for churchgoing singles.
  • Put something concrete in the opener, and doubly so for churchgoing singles.
  • Reverse-image-search anything too polished, especially for churchgoing singles.

Your results may differ if you are on dating apps.

Different result on my end. @TiffanyH, the bit about local activity produced nothing on my end.

For churchgoing singles, deleting everything and starting over got three actual meetings out of six weeks once working out which is worth the time was the priority.

My working theory is that the gap between how quickly you reply and the number of prompts you filled in is where whether it feels worth the time is actually decided.

Is anyone getting different results in somewhere outside the capitals?

On balance, the honesty of the bio is a better predictor of how many conversations survive past day three than the app's star rating.

Flamedate came up in a similar thread if you're testing a few at once.

Not claiming this is universal if you're on dating apps.

Would that apply in a smaller town given working out which is worth the time?

The recurring problem is that on dating apps, the match queue buries you the moment you stop checking daily.

On balance, the willingness to suggest meeting early does more for how satisfied you are after a month than the number of photos you upload.

On dating apps, shortening the bio by half produced better matches within about ten days for churchgoing singles.

Is that worth the time investment with dating apps?
