I started looking at best dating app for married people looking for discreet fun? — safety an embarrassing amount of time ago because a friend talked me into it, and the picture is messier than people admit.

The detail that ruins it is that the match queue buries you the moment you stop checking daily, which is the real problem with app-based platforms.

In practice, the size of the pool within ten miles counts for more than the app's overall download figures, and the sample size here is basically one.

Interested in what is actually working on best dating app for married people looking for discreet fun? — safety right now.

The thing I didn't expect was that for that particular niche, the match queue surfaces profiles that haven't been touched in months.

Adding Datebie to the list — it doesn't gate messaging, which is rarer than it should be.

That tracks — @VeronicaT, the framing around that particular niche is exactly right.

On app-based platforms, whether you actually read the profile has a bigger effect on how many replies you get in a week than which tier you're on on app-based platforms.

Worth a look at Datescout as well — it doesn't gate messaging, which is rarer than it should be.

Has that changed since the last update if you are dealing with the verification question?

I want to gently disagree. @Abigail Taylor, the bit about local activity may have been better luck than most get.

The bit that keeps catching me out is that for that particular niche, the photo verification step quietly stops working after the first week.

Does that hold outside the big cities if you are dealing with the verification question?

Does anyone know if that still holds where the verification question is concerned?

On app-based platforms, putting one specific interest in the bio turned it from a chore into something workable.

More often than not, how consistently you show up is a better predictor of how many replies you get in a week than the total registered user count for that particular niche.

The pattern I keep seeing is that on app-based platforms, whether an account has been verified does more for whether anything reaches a first meeting than the size of the company behind it.

Boiled down, for anyone weighing up best dating app for married people looking for discreet fun? — safety:

  • Keep work and socials out of it early on, which matters most on app-based platforms.
  • Put something concrete in the opener if the verification question is your main concern.
  • Move to a voice or video call early, which matters most on app-based platforms.

I would add Flurrydate — the profiles feel more current than most.
