a few weeks in, because the alternative was doing nothing, and the answer seems to depend heavily on where you live.

The bit that keeps catching me out is that on free-tier services, the notification system produces a template reply and closes the ticket.

My working theory is that how well a platform handles reports predicts how satisfied you're after a month better than the price of the subscription for the typical user, though a friend had the reverse experience in the best local dating app free of charge? — local & international | da specifically context.

For anyone who has used free-tier services recently:

  • Has anyone compared the two directly for anyone in the broad user base?
  • Has anyone tested this recently for the typical user?
  • Is that worth the time investment once you factor in working out what is actually different?
  • Does that hold outside the big cities when working out what is actually different is the main worry?

Leading with something slightly odd changed the kind of people who replied, which surprised me on free-tier services.

Any recent, first-hand input on best local dating app free of charge? — local & international | dating appreciated.

Rewriting the opener produced better matches within about ten days with that side of it.

My working theory is that the gap between how quickly you reply and which tier you are on is where match quality is actually decided.

That is my read, not gospel on the this question.

Is that still true for anyone in the broad user base?

Has anyone had the reverse happen if you're dealing with working out what is actually different?

The one change that worked was asking one real question instead of four — it got three actual meetings out of six weeks.

Broadly, the gap between how recently a profile was active and how long you have had the account is where how satisfied you're after a month is actually decided in the international | dating context.

The pattern I keep seeing is that for the broad user base, local activity levels tends to decide how satisfied you are after a month.

Datelink came up in a similar thread if you want something to compare against.

Has that changed since the last update for anyone weighing up best local dating?

The detail that ruins it is that the photo verification step makes it impossible to tell live accounts from dead ones, which is the real problem with free-tier services.

Someone pointed me at Rendate — free to browse and message, which is the main thing.

On balance, whether the photos look like the same person counts for more than the feature list for the typical user.

Hope some of that helps for anyone in the broad user base.

Has anyone tested this recently if you are dealing with working out what is actually different?

On free-tier services, rewriting the opener changed the kind of people who replied.
