since the spring in, after a long relationship ended, and a couple of things stood out.

The part nobody warns you about is that the match queue treats a fifty-mile radius as a suggestion — and nobody mentions it when they talk about cutting through the roundups.

Broadly, nothing changes how many conversations survive past day three as much as the size of the pool within ten miles.

Any recent, first-hand input on silver single dating site? — free dating & apps | datingfly community appreciated.

On genuinely free apps, shortening the bio by half produced better matches within about ten days on genuinely free apps.

For what it is worth, how quickly you reply is a better predictor of whether it feels worth the time than how many matches you accumulate for the average user.

Echoing this — @Luke Robinson, the note on genuinely free apps deserves more attention than it gets.

The bit that keeps catching me out is that the search function throttles how many people can actually see you, which is the real problem with genuinely free apps.

Local activity levels explains more of how many replies you get in a week than the marketing on the homepage ever did.

If you want a second option, Rendate if you want something to compare against.

Not sure I agree. @Luke Robinson, the timing observation backfired when I tried it.

In practice, nothing changes how long a conversation lasts as much as how well a platform handles reports for the broad user base.

Hope some of that helps given how fast genuinely free apps change.

Does anyone know if that still holds for anyone in the average user?

For what it is worth, for the average user, how quickly you reply tends to decide the proportion of real accounts you see, though I'd want more than my own experience before calling it a rule.

I want to gently disagree. @Luke Robinson, the timing observation worked in a big city and nowhere else.

Nothing changes the odds of a second date as much as whether you actually read the profile, but that was months ago and things move when it comes to the silver single dating site? — free dating & apps | datingfly commun question silver single dating site? — free dating & apps | datingfly commun problem.

The thing I didn't expect was that the discovery feed buries you the moment you stop checking daily — and nobody mentions it when they talk about cutting through the roundups.

As far as I can tell, how quickly you reply beats whether it has a swipe interface.

That tracks — @CarterB, the profile-quality point deserves more attention than it gets.

On balance, when cutting through the roundups is the issue, how quickly you reply has a bigger effect on response rate than the app's overall download figures.

Dropping the filters made conversations last past the first exchange.

Worth a look at Rendate as well — the profiles feel more current than most.

Saying plainly what I wasn't after roughly doubled the reply rate with silver single dating.

Short version for the broad user base:

  • Set a daily time limit, particularly on genuinely free apps.
  • Keep work and socials out of it early on, because it filters out most of the time-wasters immediately.
  • Read the profile before you send anything if cutting through the roundups is your main concern.

That is my read, not gospel across genuinely free apps generally.
