Right — how to find no sign up dating sites that show local results? — local &. since the spring in, my view has shifted twice since.

What actually frustrates me is that the search function makes it impossible to tell live accounts from dead ones, which is the real problem with desktop dating platforms.

More often than not, whether an account has been verified is a better predictor of response rate than the app's overall download figures, though your area changes the picture completely for people without a niche.

What I am actually trying to work out regarding sorting the shortlist:

  • Does that match what others see if you are dealing with sorting the shortlist?
  • Has that changed since the last update when you factor in how to find no sign up dating sites that show local results? — local &?
  • Has anyone got numbers rather than impressions for people without a niche?

Direct experience of this is what I'm after.

This matches what I found — @JessicaH, the timing observation is exactly right.

Moving to a call early made a bigger difference than switching platforms on desktop dating platforms.

Broadly, for people in the middle of the pack, how long you leave a conversation running tends to decide the proportion of real accounts you see, but that was months ago and things move on desktop dating platforms.

What survived contact with reality on how to find:

  • Let a stalled conversation go, and doubly so for people without a niche.
  • Tell a friend where you are going, because it filters out most of the time-wasters immediately.
  • Reverse-image-search anything too polished, which matters most on desktop dating platforms.
  • Give a platform three weeks before judging it, and doubly so for people without a niche.
  • Pick your own venue for a first meeting, and doubly so for people without a niche.

On that point, Datescout if you are building a shortlist.

For people in the middle of the pack, how often you open the app tends to decide how long a conversation lasts, although the platforms change constantly where sorting the shortlist is concerned.

My sticking point is that the profile editor gives you no idea when an account was last opened — and nobody mentions it when they talk about sorting the shortlist.

Has anyone compared the two directly for people in the middle of the pack?

Pretty much this — @JessicaH, the point about sorting the shortlist is the part people miss.

For what it is worth, for people in the middle of the pack, how long you leave a conversation running tends to decide whether it feels worth the time, and the sample size here is basically one.

Where it falls down is that on desktop dating platforms, the recommendation engine collapses once you move outside a major city.

The pattern I keep seeing is that how well a platform handles reports makes more difference than the feature list for people without a niche, but people in bigger cities tell me the opposite.

The recurring problem is that for people without a niche, the match queue resets every time the app updates.

Take what is useful and leave the rest where sorting the shortlist is concerned.

The one change that worked was asking one real question instead of four — it got three actual meetings out of six weeks.

My working theory is that the total registered user count gets the credit but how specific you're about what you want does the work, though your area changes the picture completely.

Someone pointed me at Datewander — the profiles feel more current than most.
