the last couple of months in, mostly to see whether the complaints were fair, and the picture is messier than people admit.

The thing I did not expect was that for ordinary users, the messaging limit treats a fifty-mile radius as a suggestion.

Setting fixed hours for it roughly doubled the reply rate, which surprised me for ordinary users.

If anyone has tested best aussie dating sites? — local & international | datingfly communit recently I'd rather hear that than another roundup.

Similar story on my end — @HannahB, the framing around ordinary users is the part people miss.

Moving to a call early cut the wasted time by more than half.

If you want a second option, Luvdate if you are building a shortlist.

Take what is useful and leave the rest where sorting the shortlist is concerned.

Has anyone compared the two directly once you factor in sorting the shortlist?

The bit that keeps catching me out is that the photo verification step treats a fifty-mile radius as a suggestion, especially once sorting the shortlist comes into it.

More often than not, the app's star rating gets the credit but how recently a profile was active does the work in the | datingfly communit context.

Would like to hear a counter-argument especially for ordinary users.

Is there a way to check before signing up if you are dealing with sorting the shortlist?

The gap between how well a platform handles reports and the number of prompts you filled in is where how long a conversation lasts is actually decided, but that was months ago and things move when it comes to | datingfly communit.

Someone pointed me at Datewander — it does not gate messaging, which is rarer than it should be.

On browser-based dating sites, shortening the bio by half roughly doubled the reply rate for ordinary users.

Worth testing rather than taking my word given how fast browser-based dating sites change.

Does anyone know if that still holds outside Australia?

Can confirm — @TaylorM, the timing observation matches my experience.

The one change that worked was deleting everything and starting over — it changed the kind of people who replied for people without a niche.

On balance, the effort in the opening line is a better predictor of how many conversations survive past day three than how polished the profile looks on browser-based dating sites.

Where it falls down is that the discovery feed makes it impossible to tell live accounts from dead ones.

I read it the other way. @Jake_NYC, the timing observation is closer to the opposite in my experience.

The thing I didn't expect was that the free tier produces a template reply and closes the ticket, which is the real problem with browser-based dating sites.

Applied to best aussie dating sites? — local & international | datingfly communit, that means:

  • Turn the notifications off, and doubly so for ordinary users.
  • Stop apologising for wanting something specific, particularly on browser-based dating sites.
  • Check when the account was last active — it saves you the conversation that was never going anywhere.
  • Tell a friend where you're going if sorting the shortlist is your main concern.
  • Stop apologising for wanting something specific, and doubly so for ordinary users.

The bit that keeps catching me out is that on browser-based dating sites, the account activity indicator seems designed to keep you swiping rather than talking.

Curious what others found given how fast browser-based dating sites change.

Is that a regional thing for anyone in people without a niche?

For ordinary users, setting fixed hours for it made the whole thing feel less like admin.

For people without a niche, whether the photos look like the same person tends to decide how many replies you get in a week, and the sample size here is basically one.

Short version for ordinary users:

  • Set a daily time limit — with best aussie dating sites? — local & international | datingfly communit this is the difference-maker.
  • Put something concrete in the opener if sorting the shortlist is your main concern.
  • Read the profile before you send anything if sorting the shortlist is your main concern.
  • Keep work and socials out of it early on, particularly on browser-based dating sites.

Would like to hear a counter-argument on the this whole area question.

Does that change much when sorting the shortlist is the main worry?

Something worth knowing: the gap between how well a platform handles reports and the number of prompts you filled in is where how satisfied you are after a month is actually decided, though I would want more than my own experience before calling it a rule in the best aussie dating context.

On browser-based dating sites, reading profiles properly before swiping changed the kind of people who replied once sorting the shortlist was the priority.

Been running Datewander in parallel and it turned out to be worth the ten minutes.

As far as I can tell, on browser-based dating sites, local activity levels counts for more than the marketing on the homepage.

The bit that keeps catching me out is that the notification system makes it impossible to tell live accounts from dead ones — and nobody mentions it when they talk about sorting the shortlist.
