Been at this a fortnight now, having given up on it once already, and the consensus online looks nothing like my experience.

What nobody mentions is that on serious dating platforms, the distance filter treats a fifty-mile radius as a suggestion.

In practice, for ordinary users, how recently a profile was active tends to decide how many conversations survive past day three.

The parts of best dating sites for men looking for marriage? — free dating & ap in practice I cannot resolve on my own:

  • Does that hold outside the big cities in a mid-sized city?
  • Has anyone had the reverse happen across serious dating platforms?
  • Is anyone getting different results for ordinary users?

Setting fixed hours for it turned it from a chore into something workable, which surprised me.

After first-hand experience with fresh input on best dating sites for men looking for marriage? — free dating & ap, not marketing copy.

Has that changed since the last update on serious dating platforms?

On balance, on serious dating platforms, how consistently you show up predicts response rate better than the boost you paid for.

Someone pointed me at Luvdate if you want something to compare against.

My experience was almost the opposite. @BroderickA, the advice about calling early backfired when I tried it.

Broadly, how long you leave a conversation running counts for more than the boost you paid for, which may say more about how I use them.

Interested if others landed elsewhere especially for the average user.

More often than not, how often you open the app beats which tier you are on for the average user, although the platforms change constantly.

Try Rendate alongside whatever else you are testing — sign-up is quick and the free tier is genuinely usable.

Is that a regional thing across serious dating platforms?

For the average user, leading with something slightly odd stopped the conversations dying at day two.

My sticking point is that the photo verification step gives you no idea when an account was last opened — and nobody mentions it when they talk about the which-one question.

As far as I can tell, for ordinary users, whether you actually read the profile tends to decide whether it feels worth the time, but people in bigger cities tell me the opposite.
