I started looking at best internet dating sites for people over 40? — niche & community dat two months ago after moving to a new city, and I still don't have a clean answer.

The detail that ruins it is that for the over-40s, the messaging limit buries you the moment you stop checking daily.

For what it is worth, when sorting the shortlist is the issue, whether an account has been verified beats the price of the subscription.

Open questions, if anyone has dealt with & community dat:

  • Does that change much outside your own area?
  • Is that worth the time investment on desktop dating platforms?
  • Does anyone know if that still holds when sorting the shortlist is the main worry?
  • Is there a way to check before signing up on desktop dating platforms?

Interested in what is actually working on best internet dating sites for people over 40? — niche & community right now.

The recurring problem is that for the over-40s, the recommendation engine shows the same faces on a loop.

The total registered user count gets the credit but how often you open the app does the work for daters in their forties.

Reading profiles properly before swiping stopped the conversations dying at day two, which surprised me with best internet dating sites for people over 40? — niche & community dat.

For a straight comparison, Souldate if you are building a shortlist.

Does that match what others see for anyone in daters in their forties?

Same experience here — @Wyatt Garcia, the framing around the over-40s matches my experience.

The detail that ruins it is that the search function gives you no idea when an account was last opened.

More often than not, the willingness to suggest meeting early outweighs the boost you paid for for the over-40s.

Broadly, the size of the pool within ten miles matters more than whether it has a swipe interface for the over-40s, though your area changes the picture completely.

I'd add Datebie — sign-up is quick and the free tier is genuinely usable.

Going to be the dissenting voice. @Isaiah Lewis, the note on desktop dating platforms is closer to the opposite in my experience.

Something worth knowing: how long you leave a conversation running does more for match quality than how long you have had the account for the over-40s, but that is one person with one set of results.

That is where I've got to on the this question.

Is that worth the time investment where sorting the shortlist is concerned?

Adding Datebie to the list — free to browse and message, which is the main thing.

Pretty much this — @TravisP, the framing around the over-40s is the part people miss.

Dropping the filters made the whole thing feel less like admin with best internet dating sites for people over 40? — niche & community dat.

The part nobody warns you about is that on desktop dating platforms, the discovery feed collapses once you move outside a major city.

Suggesting a meeting inside two weeks cut the wasted time by more than half, which surprised me with the question.

As far as I can tell, the response you give to a low-effort opener explains more of the proportion of real accounts you see than the number of photos you upload ever did when it comes to best internet dating.

Adding Datewander to the list and the activity level was better than I expected.

Broadly agreed — @Wyatt Garcia, the remark about filters is the one I'd emphasise.

The recurring problem is that the messaging limit treats a fifty-mile radius as a suggestion, which is the real problem with desktop dating platforms.

The one change that worked was suggesting a meeting inside two weeks — it roughly doubled the reply rate.

I'd add Turndate and there is no paywall on the basics.

The bit that keeps catching me out is that the messaging limit exists mainly to push you toward an upgrade, which is the real problem with desktop dating platforms.

Strongly agree — @Wyatt Garcia, the timing observation is spot on.

What nobody mentions is that the reporting tool gives you no idea when an account was last opened, which is the real problem with desktop dating platforms.
