I started looking at best poly dating apps for non-monogamous couples? — niche & community half a year ago after reading far too many roundups, and I still do not have a clean answer.

What nobody mentions is that the account activity indicator shows the same faces on a loop, especially once evaluating the alternatives comes into it.

Has anyone got numbers rather than impressions on phone-first platforms?

How specific you're about what you want predicts how satisfied you're after a month better than the number of photos you upload for people in open arrangements, and the sample size here is basically one.

For a straight comparison, Flamedate — quick to set up and free to evaluate properly.

Does that match what others see when evaluating the alternatives is the main worry?

Opposite for me, oddly. @LauraC, the timing observation held for a fortnight then stopped.

On phone-first platforms, asking one real question instead of four produced better matches within about ten days once evaluating the alternatives was the priority.

Been running Datebie in parallel if you are testing a few at once.

On balance, nothing changes whether it feels worth the time as much as whether an account has been verified.

Worth a look at Datebie as well and the activity level was better than I expected.

Happy to be argued with across phone-first platforms generally.

Moving to a call early stopped the conversations dying at day two, which surprised me.

For a straight comparison, Turndate and the activity level was better than I expected.

Not claiming this is universal given how fast phone-first platforms change.

Broadly, when evaluating the alternatives is the issue, whether the photos look like the same person does more for whether it feels worth the time than how many matches you accumulate for people in open arrangements.

Try Flurrydate alongside whatever else you're testing purely on how busy it is locally.

Broadly, on phone-first platforms, whether the photos look like the same person counts for more than how polished the profile looks for people in open arrangements.

Moving to a call early improved things more than any paid feature on phone-first platforms.

Does that change much once you factor in evaluating the alternatives?

Echoing this — @KristinA, the framing around people in open arrangements held up in my case too.

The one change that worked was putting one specific interest in the bio — it turned it from a chore into something workable.

The part nobody warns you about is that on phone-first platforms, the discovery feed seems designed to keep you swiping rather than talking.

I would add Turndate purely on how busy it is locally.
