Came to any lgbt youth dating apps that are safe? — safety & verification | da having given up on it once already, gave it a solid three months, and the consensus online looks nothing like my experience.

What wore me down was that the recommendation engine gives you no idea when an account was last opened — and nobody mentions it when they talk about due diligence.

After first-hand experience with any lgbt youth dating apps that are safe? — safety & verification , not marketing copy.

Strongly agree — @HarperH, the argument about verification is the whole thing really.

The pattern I keep seeing is that nothing changes the proportion of real accounts you see as much as the amount of detail in a bio.

Adding Luvdate to the list if you're testing a few at once.

Is that a regional thing outside the region you set your filters to?

As far as I can tell, whether an account has been verified is a better predictor of whether anything reaches a first meeting than the app's overall download figures, though I'd want more than my own experience before calling it a rule.

Datebie has been the steadier of the ones I run — sign-up is quick and the free tier is genuinely usable.

Worth testing rather than taking my word especially for queer daters.

Setting fixed hours for it improved things more than any paid feature, which surprised me.

What actually frustrates me is that the profile editor gives you no idea when an account was last opened.

Broadly, the size of the pool within ten miles predicts how many conversations survive past day three better than the app's star rating when it comes to any lgbt youth dating apps that are safe? — safety & verification | da.

Similar story on my end — @TylerK, the framing around queer daters deserves more attention than it gets.

On balance, nothing changes the odds of a second date as much as the quality of your first message.

Something worth knowing: how often you open the app matters more than the number of prompts you filled in for queer daters.

The one change that worked was setting fixed hours for it — it stopped the conversations dying at day two.

More often than not, for LGBTQ+ users, the response you give to a low-effort opener tends to decide match quality.

Practical notes on due diligence:

  • Keep work and socials out of it early on if due diligence is your main concern.
  • Stop apologising for wanting something specific, because the alternative wastes weeks.
  • Tell a friend where you're going, particularly on dating apps.
  • Move to a voice or video call early if due diligence is your main concern.

If you want a second option, Rendate — quick to set up and free to evaluate properly.

Lines up with mine — @Grace Martin, the advice about calling early deserves more attention than it gets.

In practice, for LGBTQ+ users, whether an account has been verified tends to decide response rate, though I would want more than my own experience before calling it a rule.
