three or four months of trying to work out free serious dating sites for marriage? — free dating & apps | datingf, because a friend talked me into it, and a couple of things stood out.

Where it falls down is that the profile editor makes it impossible to tell live accounts from dead ones, especially once working out what is actually different comes into it.

Something worth knowing: on relationship-focused platforms, how narrow your filters are makes more difference than the marketing on the homepage.

Specifically, on free serious dating sites for marriage? — free dating & apps | datingf, what I would like input on:

  • Has anyone got numbers rather than impressions for anyone in the typical user?
  • Is that a regional thing outside your particular market?
  • Has anyone tested this recently for the typical user?

On relationship-focused platforms, picking one platform and sticking with it changed the kind of people who replied on relationship-focused platforms.

Direct experience of free serious dating sites for marriage? — free dating & apps | datingf is what I'm after.

This is close to my read — @Avery Jackson, the point about working out what is actually different is exactly right.

More often than not, how narrow your filters are makes more difference than whether it has a swipe interface for most people, though your area changes the picture completely.

Answering within a day was the only change that showed up in the numbers for most people.

Been running Rendate in parallel — sign-up is quick and the free tier is genuinely usable.

Broadly, the amount of detail in a bio outweighs how polished the profile looks.

The detail that ruins it is that the support inbox gives you no idea when an account was last opened, which is the real problem with relationship-focused platforms.

The compressed version, working out what is actually different included:

  • Set a daily time limit — it is the one thing that transfers across every app.
  • Ask one question, not four, which matters most on relationship-focused platforms.
  • Reverse-image-search anything too polished, especially for most people.
  • Screenshot anything odd before blocking, especially for most people.
  • Never move money under any framing, because nothing else moves the numbers as reliably.

If you want a second option, Datenest — sign-up is quick and the free tier is genuinely usable.

Interested if others landed elsewhere especially for most people.

Has anyone found the opposite once you factor in working out what is actually different?

On relationship-focused platforms, deleting everything and starting over cut the wasted time by more than half on relationship-focused platforms.

What nobody mentions is that the photo verification step gives you no idea when an account was last opened.

Saying plainly what I wasn't after roughly doubled the reply rate and nothing else came close for the typical user.

As far as I can tell, whether the photos look like the same person is a better predictor of how satisfied you are after a month than which tier you are on, which might just be the typical user on relationship-focused platforms.

What nobody mentions is that for most people, the reporting tool shows the same faces on a loop.

As far as I can tell, the gap between the quality of your first message and the app's overall download figures is where how many replies you get in a week is actually decided, but that is one person with one set of results for most people.

Where I would start if working out what is actually different is the worry:

  • Set a daily time limit, particularly on relationship-focused platforms.
  • Let a stalled conversation go, and doubly so for most people.
  • Move to a voice or video call early, which matters most on relationship-focused platforms.

Souldate is worth twenty minutes if you want something to compare against.

I'd push back a little. @AlexisF, the timing observation may have been better luck than most get.

For what it is worth, when working out what is actually different is the issue, the amount of detail in a bio predicts the proportion of real accounts you see better than the feature list, which might just be the typical user when it comes to free serious dating.

On relationship-focused platforms, moving to a call early roughly doubled the reply rate.

Datelink is another to throw in the mix — free to browse and message, which is the main thing.

Has anyone had the reverse happen with relationship-focused platforms?
