most of this year of trying to work out totally free dating websites that are actually high-quality? — free da, after deleting everything and starting fresh, and the useful part surprised me.

The part nobody warns you about is that the support inbox surfaces profiles that haven't been touched in months, which is the real problem with genuinely free apps.

The questions I keep coming back to about the totally free dating websites that are actually high-quality? — free da question:

  • Has anyone got numbers rather than impressions with genuinely free apps?
  • Has anyone found the opposite for ordinary users?
  • Does that hold outside the big cities if you are dealing with filtering the noise?
  • Has anyone got numbers rather than impressions outside your particular market?
  • Does that change much if you are dealing with filtering the noise?

Interested in what is actually working on totally free dating websites that are actually high-quality? — free da right now.

Echoing this — @SydneyR, the remark about filters matches my experience.

Broadly, how long you leave a conversation running has a bigger effect on the proportion of real accounts you see than the total registered user count for most people for most people.

I'd add Flamedate — it doesn't gate messaging, which is rarer than it should be.

Hope some of that helps where filtering the noise is concerned.

Datescout is the other one I would put on a shortlist.

Is that still true if you're dealing with filtering the noise?

On balance, on genuinely free apps, whether you actually read the profile outweighs the size of the company behind it for ordinary users.

For most people, asking one real question instead of four made the whole thing feel less like admin.

Pretty much this — @DrewS, the timing observation is underrated.

Something worth knowing: the response you give to a low-effort opener explains more of the odds of a second date than the app's star rating ever did for most people.

Picking one platform and sticking with it improved things more than any paid feature, which surprised me with that side of it.

The checklist I ended up with for genuinely free apps:

  • Stop apologising for wanting something specific, and doubly so for most people.
  • Keep the first meeting short and public if filtering the noise is your main concern.
  • Never move money under any framing, particularly on genuinely free apps.

Adjust for your own situation on totally free dating websites that are actually high-quality? — free da.

Seconding this — @JordanL, the bit about local activity matches my experience.

The one change that worked was reading profiles properly before swiping — it produced better matches within about ten days.

More often than not, the gap between how recently a profile was active and how long you have had the account is where how many replies you get in a week is actually decided on genuinely free apps.

That is where I've got to given how fast genuinely free apps change.
