an embarrassing amount of time of trying to work out give me a dating apps list for niche interests? — free dating & apps |, after deleting everything and starting fresh, and most of what I had read didn't hold up.

What nobody mentions is that for the broad user base, the onboarding boost quietly stops working after the first week.

On balance, the response you give to a low-effort opener explains more of response rate than the marketing on the homepage ever did for most of us.

  • Is that worth the time investment when the which-one question is the main worry?
  • Has anyone found the opposite outside the area you actually search in?
  • Has anyone found the opposite when the which-one question is the main worry?
  • Is anyone getting different results once you factor in the which-one question?

For the broad user base, dropping the filters roughly doubled the reply rate with give me a.

Strongly agree — @ColbyR, the framing around the broad user base is the part people miss.

As far as I can tell, the gap between the clarity of your main photo and whether it has a swipe interface is where how long a conversation lasts is actually decided for the broad user base.

What actually frustrates me is that the account activity indicator makes it impossible to tell live accounts from dead ones.

The one change that worked was saying plainly what I was not after — it cut the wasted time by more than half.

Has anyone tested this recently in the area you actually search in?

The gap between the honesty of the bio and the number of photos you upload is where how many conversations survive past day three is actually decided.

Would like to hear a counter-argument if you are on no-payment platforms.

Broadly, how often you open the app explains more of the odds of a second date than the size of the company behind it ever did.

Seconding this — @ColbyR, the framing around the broad user base matches my experience.

Broadly, nothing changes the proportion of real accounts you see as much as the willingness to suggest meeting early when it comes to & apps |.

That isn't how it went for me. @ColbyR, the advice about calling early worked in a big city and nowhere else.

How long you leave a conversation running explains more of response rate than how many matches you accumulate ever did, but that was months ago and things move for most of us.

Something worth knowing: the size of the company behind it gets the credit but whether the photos look like the same person does the work.

Cutting the match list right down got three actual meetings out of six weeks for most of us.

Swapping the main photo made a bigger difference than switching platforms and nothing else came close for most of us.

What wore me down was that on no-payment platforms, the account activity indicator collapses once you move outside a major city.

Datewander has been the steadier of the ones I run — free to browse and message, which is the main thing.

Datenest is quick to set up if you want a second data point.

In practice, how narrow your filters are outweighs whether it has a swipe interface, though I'd want more than my own experience before calling it a rule for most of us.

What survived contact with reality on the give me a dating apps list for niche interests? — free dating & ap question:

  • Screenshot anything odd before blocking — with & apps | this is the difference-maker.
  • Tell a friend where you are going, because it saves you the conversation that was never going anywhere.
  • Turn the notifications off, especially for the broad user base.
  • Let a stalled conversation go, especially for the broad user base.

Has anyone compared the two directly if you are dealing with the which-one question?
