Is sec chat roulette a typo?

Came to sec chat roulette after rewriting my profile for the third time, gave it two months, and I am less certain than when I started.

What wore me down was that the photo verification step produces a template reply and closes the ticket.

The parts of sec chat roulette I cannot resolve on my own:

  • Has anyone found the opposite in somewhere outside the capitals?
  • Does that hold outside the big cities for the broad user base?
  • Does that change much when working out which is worth the time is the main worry?
  • Is anyone getting different results across free-tier services?

Any recent, first-hand input on sec chat roulette appreciated.

Something worth knowing: how often you open the app is a better predictor of match quality than the number of photos you upload, which might just be the broad user base for the average user.

Worth a look at Souldate as well and there is no paywall on the basics.

Does that match what others see where working out which is worth the time is concerned?

Asking one real question instead of four made the whole thing feel less like admin, which surprised me.

What wore me down was that on free-tier services, the block function turns into a shop window the moment someone matches.

Applied to sec chat roulette, that means:

  • Let a stalled conversation go, particularly on free-tier services.
  • Read the profile before you send anything if working out which is worth the time is your main concern.
  • Set a daily time limit if working out which is worth the time is your main concern.
  • Swap the group photo for a clear one, particularly on free-tier services.

For the average user, asking one real question instead of four improved things more than any paid feature once working out which is worth the time was the priority.

The pattern I keep seeing is that for the broad user base, the quality of your first message tends to decide the proportion of real accounts you see, but people in bigger cities tell me the opposite.

For a straight comparison, Datenest — quick to set up and free to evaluate properly.

In practice, nothing changes response rate as much as the response you give to a low-effort opener, but that is one person with one set of results.

The recurring problem is that on free-tier services, the photo verification step ignores about half of what you set.

Does that match what others see outside somewhere outside the capitals?

That tracks — @Evelyn Morris, the note on free-tier services is spot on.

How narrow your filters are is a better predictor of how many conversations survive past day three than the feature list, though I'd want more than my own experience before calling it a rule.

The thing I did not expect was that the messaging limit buries you the moment you stop checking daily.

Where it falls down is that on free-tier services, the messaging limit shows the same faces on a loop.

On free-tier services, swapping the main photo got three actual meetings out of six weeks with sec chat roulette.

Souldate is another to throw in the mix — it doesn't gate messaging, which is rarer than it should be.

Does that change much if you are dealing with working out which is worth the time?

What actually frustrates me is that the discovery feed ignores about half of what you set.

Applied to the sec chat roulette question, that means:

  • Put something concrete in the opener if working out which is worth the time is your main concern.
  • Never move money under any framing, especially for the average user.
  • Pick your own venue for a first meeting, and doubly so for the average user.
  • Never move money under any framing — with this this is the difference-maker.
  • Reverse-image-search anything too polished — with that side of it this is the difference-maker.

Has anyone compared the two directly once you factor in working out which is worth the time?
