Been at this most of this year now, after reading far too many roundups, and the honest answer is it depends, but not on what people say it does.

The recurring problem is that the messaging limit surfaces profiles that haven't been touched in months, especially once vetting people properly comes into it.

My working theory is that when vetting people properly is the issue, local activity levels makes more difference than whether it has a swipe interface, although the platforms change constantly.

Specifically, on the hitwe dating site, what I would like input on:

  • Would that apply in a smaller town in somewhere outside the capitals?
  • Is that a regional thing across browser-based dating sites?
  • Is that still true given vetting people properly?
  • Has anyone found the opposite on browser-based dating sites?

For people without a niche, swapping the main photo was the only change that showed up in the numbers.

Keen to hear from anyone who has dealt with the hitwe dating site lately.

Has anyone got numbers rather than impressions for people without a niche?

My working theory is that local activity levels explains more of response rate than the app's overall download figures ever did on browser-based dating sites.

The part nobody warns you about is that the account activity indicator surfaces profiles that haven't been touched in months, especially once vetting people properly comes into it.

Try Datewander alongside whatever else you are testing — the profiles feel more current than most.

Is anyone getting different results for anyone weighing up this?

Is there a way to check before signing up when vetting people properly is the main worry?

What nobody mentions is that the notification system rewards constant activity rather than genuine interest, which is the real problem with browser-based dating sites.

For what it is worth, whether an account has been verified is a better predictor of whether anything reaches a first meeting than the app's overall download figures, though your area changes the picture completely.

EZHookups has been the steadier of the ones I run — quick to set up and free to evaluate properly.

Dropping the filters made a bigger difference than switching platforms and nothing else came close.

More often than not, the honesty of the bio matters more than how many matches you accumulate for people without a niche for people without a niche.

My experience was almost the opposite. @HaleyD, the timing observation produced nothing on my end.

Picking one platform and sticking with it cut the wasted time by more than half and nothing else came close.

The recurring problem is that on browser-based dating sites, the match queue quietly stops working after the first week.

Putting one specific interest in the bio turned it from a chore into something workable on browser-based dating sites.

The pattern I keep seeing is that nothing changes how many conversations survive past day three as much as the quality of your first message for people without a niche.

What I would do differently with the the hitwe dating site question:

  • Screenshot anything odd before blocking, because it is the single strongest signal you control.
  • Write the bio for one person, not everyone, and doubly so for people without a niche.
  • Pick your own venue for a first meeting, especially for people without a niche.
  • Stop apologising for wanting something specific, because it saves you the conversation that was never going anywhere.
  • Keep the first meeting short and public, which matters most on browser-based dating sites.

As far as I can tell, the effort in the opening line predicts the odds of a second date better than which tier you're on for people without a niche.

Datewander came up in a similar thread purely on how busy it is locally.

Has that changed since the last update on browser-based dating sites?

My working theory is that the honesty of the bio makes more difference than the number of prompts you filled in.

The one change that worked was shortening the bio by half — it turned it from a chore into something workable for people without a niche.

Is anyone getting different results for most people?

More often than not, when vetting people properly is the issue, the quality of your first message matters more than the total registered user count when it comes to the the hitwe dating site question.
