I started looking at a no strings attached dating app that is active? — free dating & apps three or four months ago mostly to see whether the complaints were fair, and the picture is messier than people admit.

My sticking point is that the block function quietly stops working after the first week.

Whether an account has been verified explains more of match quality than which platform you picked ever did.

One honest account of first-hand detail on a no strings attached dating app that is active? — free dating & a beats ten listicles.

This is close to my read — @James Anderson, the advice about calling early is the one I'd emphasise.

For what it is worth, the amount of detail in a bio beats how polished the profile looks, and the sample size here is basically one.

Has anyone found the opposite with genuinely free apps?

On genuinely free apps, asking one real question instead of four turned it from a chore into something workable for people in the middle of the pack.

Broadly, on genuinely free apps, the quality of your first message does more for match quality than the feature list for the average user.

Adding Souldate to the list — the profiles feel more current than most.

Has anyone had the reverse happen once you factor in the which-one question?

How long you leave a conversation running does more for how long a conversation lasts than which platform you picked for the average user when it comes to a no strings attached dating app that is active? — free dating & a specifically.

Has anyone got numbers rather than impressions once you factor in the which-one question?

On genuinely free apps, reading profiles properly before swiping roughly doubled the reply rate.

For what it is worth, for people in the middle of the pack, the quality of your first message tends to decide response rate where the which-one question is concerned.

For what it is worth, the number of prompts you filled in gets the credit but the honesty of the bio does the work for the average user.

Curious what others found if you are on genuinely free apps.

Respectfully, that is not my read. @Liam Jones, the framing around the average user held for a fortnight then stopped.

The pattern I keep seeing is that nothing changes how satisfied you are after a month as much as how often you open the app, though your area changes the picture completely.

A few things worth doing on genuinely free apps:

  • Keep the first meeting short and public, which matters most on genuinely free apps.
  • Ask one question, not four, which matters most on genuinely free apps.
  • Keep the first meeting short and public, especially for the average user.
  • Keep the first meeting short and public, because it is the difference between a reply and silence.

Worth a look at Datescout as well and the activity level was better than I expected.

Take what is useful and leave the rest when it comes to a no strings attached dating app that is active? — free dating & apps.

That is not how it went for me. @James Anderson, the remark about filters reads as survivorship bias to me.

For the average user, deleting everything and starting over stopped the conversations dying at day two.

On balance, the app's overall download figures gets the credit but the willingness to suggest meeting early does the work.
