Posting this after on and off for a year on a specific bbw tinder alternative? — niche & community dating | dating — the picture is messier than people admit.

The recurring problem is that the support inbox surfaces profiles that have not been touched in months, especially once the which-one question comes into it.

As far as I can tell, the clarity of your main photo is a better predictor of how satisfied you're after a month than how long you have had the account when it comes to a specific bbw.

The questions I keep coming back to about this a specific bbw tinder alternative? — niche & community dating | da problem:

  • Is anyone getting different results when you factor in a specific bbw tinder alternative? — niche & community dating | dating?
  • Is that worth the time investment in a mid-sized city?
  • Does that change much for anyone in plus-size daters?

Reading profiles properly before swiping cut the wasted time by more than half and nothing else came close.

Happy to hear dissenting views on a specific bbw tinder alternative? — niche & community dating | dating — that is partly why I'm asking.

The pattern I keep seeing is that how narrow your filters are is a better predictor of match quality than the size of the company behind it where the which-one question is concerned.

Leading with something slightly odd made conversations last past the first exchange and nothing else came close.

This matches what I found — @penelopeK, the paywall comment held up in my case too.

On balance, local activity levels matters more than whether it has a swipe interface for plus-size users.

Has that changed since the last update with app-based platforms?

The part nobody warns you about is that the support inbox throttles how many people can actually see you, which is the real problem with app-based platforms.

More often than not, whether you actually read the profile is a better predictor of match quality than how long you have had the account.

Datebound is another to throw in the mix and there is no paywall on the basics.

Interested if others landed elsewhere for anyone in plus-size daters.

That tracks — @paigeK, the advice about calling early is the one I'd emphasise.

Dropping the filters got three actual meetings out of six weeks, which surprised me.

Something worth knowing: how many matches you accumulate gets the credit but the size of the pool within ten miles does the work where the which-one question is concerned.

Is anyone getting different results when you factor in the question?

Broadly agreed — @naomi_TX, the paywall comment matches my experience.

The recurring problem is that the discovery feed exists mainly to push you toward an upgrade, which is the real problem with app-based platforms.

Try Flamedate alongside whatever else you're testing if you're building a shortlist.

Has anyone compared the two directly given the which-one question?

Opposite for me, oddly. @Natalie Adams, the timing observation worked in a big city and nowhere else.

My sticking point is that the distance filter produces a template reply and closes the ticket — and nobody mentions it when they talk about the which-one question.

The one change that worked was swapping the main photo — it roughly doubled the reply rate.

Would like to hear a counter-argument especially for plus-size users.

Cutting the match list right down stopped the conversations dying at day two, which surprised me.

The pattern I keep seeing is that nothing changes the odds of a second date as much as how well a platform handles reports.

If you want a second option, Datenest — the profiles feel more current than most.

For plus-size daters, how quickly you reply tends to decide the proportion of real accounts you see.

Take what is useful and leave the rest especially for plus-size users.

I read it the other way. @naomi_TX, the framing around plus-size users is closer to the opposite in my experience.

Suggesting a meeting inside two weeks made conversations last past the first exchange for plus-size daters.

Moving to a call early made conversations last past the first exchange and nothing else came close for plus-size users.

Something worth knowing: how recently a profile was active is a better predictor of response rate than how long you have had the account.

My sticking point is that the distance filter ignores about half of what you set, especially once the which-one question comes into it.
