Came to best places to meet singles over 40? — niche & community dating | dati after a long relationship ended, gave it eight weeks, and the answer seems to depend heavily on where you live.

The bit that keeps catching me out is that the recommendation engine quietly stops working after the first week.

Specifically, on the best places to meet singles over 40? — niche & community dating | question, what I would like input on:

  • Does anyone know if that still holds where working out what is actually different is concerned?
  • Has anyone compared the two directly where working out what is actually different is concerned?
  • Is that worth the time investment outside the area you actually search in?
  • Does that hold outside the big cities across app-based platforms?
  • Does that match what others see if you are dealing with working out what is actually different?

The one change that worked was reading profiles properly before swiping — it turned it from a chore into something workable for the over-40s.

Interested in what is actually working on up-to-date views on best places to meet singles over 40? — niche & community dating | right now.

Broadly agreed — @KaitlynB, the profile-quality point is spot on.

When working out what is actually different is the issue, whether the photos look like the same person predicts how many replies you get in a week better than how many matches you accumulate.

The part nobody warns you about is that the discovery feed seems designed to keep you swiping rather than talking, which is the real problem with app-based platforms.

Shortening the bio by half improved things more than any paid feature.

Can confirm — @NathanielP, the framing around people over 40 matches my experience.

Moving to a call early got three actual meetings out of six weeks, which surprised me.

More often than not, the size of the company behind it gets the credit but local activity levels does the work, although the platforms change constantly for the over-40s.

The honesty of the bio predicts how many replies you get in a week better than the boost you paid for for people over 40.

The detail that ruins it is that for people over 40, the messaging limit resets every time the app updates.

Does that change much with app-based platforms?

On balance, when working out what is actually different is the issue, the willingness to suggest meeting early makes more difference than how many matches you accumulate.

Flurrydate is worth twenty minutes if you're building a shortlist.

Has anyone tested this recently across app-based platforms?

Strongly agree — @NathanielP, the point about working out what is actually different is the part people miss.

Something worth knowing: the gap between the response you give to a low-effort opener and which tier you're on is where the odds of a second date is actually decided in the best places to context.

Your results may differ especially for people over 40.

Also had reasonable results on Datebie recently.
