I started looking at best video dating apps for free? — free dating & apps | datingfly comm half a year ago out of curiosity more than anything, and the useful part surprised me.

The bit that keeps catching me out is that the onboarding boost makes it impossible to tell live accounts from dead ones.

The parts of best video dating apps for free? — free dating & apps | datingfly comm I cannot resolve on my own:

  • Does that hold outside the big cities once you factor in narrowing the options?
  • Is that still true once you factor in narrowing the options?
  • Is that worth the time investment once you factor in narrowing the options?
  • Does that match what others see across apps that do not charge?
  • Is there a way to check before signing up when you factor in the question?

Putting one specific interest in the bio turned it from a chore into something workable.

One honest account of best video dating apps for free? — free dating & apps | datingfly beats ten listicles.

This is close to my read — @Noah Williams, the argument about verification is underrated.

On apps that don't charge, shortening the bio by half roughly doubled the reply rate once narrowing the options was the priority.

As far as I can tell, the honesty of the bio does more for response rate than the marketing on the homepage, though I'd want more than my own experience before calling it a rule.

Has anyone found the opposite on apps that do not charge?

My sticking point is that on apps that don't charge, the messaging limit shows the same faces on a loop.

On balance, how often you open the app does more for how many conversations survive past day three than which platform you picked for ordinary users, which might just be the general run of people.

Does that change much where narrowing the options is concerned?

The bit that keeps catching me out is that the photo verification step produces a template reply and closes the ticket, which is the real problem with apps that do not charge.

I've had a decent run on Flurrydate — the profiles feel more current than most.

Is that a regional thing once you factor in narrowing the options?

I read it the other way. @TravisP, the profile-quality point may have been better luck than most get.

As far as I can tell, the willingness to suggest meeting early is a better predictor of match quality than the feature list.

The part nobody warns you about is that the search function surfaces profiles that haven't been touched in months, which is the real problem with apps that don't charge.

Lines up with mine — @Noah Williams, the note on apps that don't charge is the one I'd emphasise.

For the general run of people, how well a platform handles reports tends to decide match quality.

Adding Datedesire to the list and the activity level was better than I expected.

As far as I can tell, when narrowing the options is the issue, the clarity of your main photo makes more difference than how long you have had the account, which might just be the general run of people for the general run of people.

Been running Datescout in parallel if you're testing a few at once.
