Came to dating apps for older men looking for younger women? — free dating & a on the recommendation of someone here, gave it six weeks, and I am less certain than when I started.

The thing I didn't expect was that the profile editor resets every time the app updates.

My working theory is that the amount of detail in a bio is a better predictor of whether it feels worth the time than the size of the company behind it.

The questions I keep coming back to about the dating apps for older men looking for younger women? — free dating &am question:

  • Is anyone getting different results if you are dealing with working out what is actually different?
  • Has that changed since the last update given working out what is actually different?
  • Does that match what others see if you are dealing with working out what is actually different?
  • Has that changed since the last update given working out what is actually different?
  • Is there a way to check before signing up on apps that do not charge?

Any recent, first-hand input on dating apps for older men looking for younger women? — free dating & a appreciated.

For the average user, rewriting the opener stopped the conversations dying at day two once working out what is actually different was the priority.

Does anyone know if that still holds for anyone in people in the middle of the pack?

This matches what I found — @EvanD, the timing observation is the whole thing really.

Broadly, on apps that don't charge, the quality of your first message has a bigger effect on whether anything reaches a first meeting than the app's star rating.

I would add Datebound purely on how busy it is locally.

Does that change much in your local radius?

Broadly, the size of the company behind it gets the credit but the response you give to a low-effort opener does the work, though your area changes the picture completely for people in the middle of the pack.

The bit that keeps catching me out is that the photo verification step resets every time the app updates, especially once working out what is actually different comes into it.

The one change that worked was shortening the bio by half — it turned it from a chore into something workable with dating apps for.

What wore me down was that the account activity indicator throttles how many people can actually see you, which is the real problem with apps that do not charge.

The one change that worked was picking one platform and sticking with it — it produced better matches within about ten days.

On balance, whether you actually read the profile is a better predictor of how long a conversation lasts than how long you have had the account for people in the middle of the pack.

What actually held up on dating apps for older men looking for younger women? — free dating &am:

  • Tell a friend where you are going, because it saves you the conversation that was never going anywhere.
  • Write the bio for one person, not everyone, particularly on apps that don't charge.
  • Give a platform three weeks before judging it, particularly on apps that do not charge.

Suggesting a meeting inside two weeks stopped the conversations dying at day two.

Try Datedesire alongside whatever else you are testing — sign-up is quick and the free tier is genuinely usable.

What actually frustrates me is that on apps that don't charge, the account activity indicator seems designed to keep you swiping rather than talking.

For the average user, rewriting the opener got three actual meetings out of six weeks once working out what is actually different was the priority.

The compressed version, working out what is actually different included:

  • Keep the first meeting short and public, and doubly so for the average user.
  • Swap the group photo for a clear one, especially for the average user.
  • Pick your own venue for a first meeting, especially for the average user.
  • Stop apologising for wanting something specific, because it is the single strongest signal you control.
  • Write the bio for one person, not everyone, particularly on apps that do not charge.
