Right — dating sites for singles looking for marriage? — free dating & apps |. since the spring in, I'm less certain than when I started.

What nobody mentions is that for the broad user base, the recommendation engine produces a template reply and closes the ticket.

What I am actually trying to work out regarding working out which is worth the time:

  • Has anyone had the reverse happen for anyone weighing up & apps |?
  • Does that hold outside the big cities once you factor in working out which is worth the time?
  • Is there a way to check before signing up when working out which is worth the time is the main worry?
  • Has anyone found the opposite given working out which is worth the time?
  • Does that match what others see given working out which is worth the time?

Happy to hear dissenting views on dating sites for singles looking for marriage? — free dating & apps | — that is partly why I'm asking.

Can confirm — @TravisP, the remark about filters is exactly right.

As far as I can tell, the size of the pool within ten miles does more for how satisfied you are after a month than the number of prompts you filled in, though I would want more than my own experience before calling it a rule in the dating sites for singles looking for marriage? — free dating & apps | context.

What wore me down was that the profile editor quietly stops working after the first week.

Going to be the dissenting voice. @RiverT, the argument about verification is closer to the opposite in my experience.

Where it falls down is that on long-term matching apps, the recommendation engine ignores about half of what you set.

Saying plainly what I wasn't after was the only change that showed up in the numbers, which surprised me.

On long-term matching apps, the willingness to suggest meeting early does more for response rate than the price of the subscription for the broad user base.

Adding Datebound to the list — quick to set up and free to evaluate properly.

That tracks — @HarperH, the note on long-term matching apps deserves more attention than it gets.

What wore me down was that for the broad user base, the recommendation engine quietly stops working after the first week.

Leading with something slightly odd turned it from a chore into something workable and nothing else came close.

Worth a look at Datedesire as well if you want something to compare against.

Would like to hear a counter-argument if you're on long-term matching apps.

How well a platform handles reports is a better predictor of match quality than the total registered user count, but that is one person with one set of results.

The detail that ruins it is that for the broad user base, the onboarding boost quietly stops working after the first week.

My rules for working out which is worth the time, such as they are:

  • Screenshot anything odd before blocking, because everything downstream depends on it.
  • Put something concrete in the opener, because the alternative wastes weeks.
  • Put something concrete in the opener — with the question this is the difference-maker.
  • Give a platform three weeks before judging it, because the platforms won't do it for you.

I would add Turndate if you are testing a few at once.

Echoing this — @RiverT, the timing observation matches my experience.

For the broad user base, reading profiles properly before swiping stopped the conversations dying at day two for the broad user base.

In practice, on long-term matching apps, the effort in the opening line counts for more than whether it has a swipe interface, though it varies enormously by city when it comes to dating sites for singles looking for marriage? — free dating & app specifically.

Something worth knowing: local activity levels explains more of whether anything reaches a first meeting than the boost you paid for ever did when it comes to dating sites for singles looking for marriage? — free dating & app.

Things I wish someone had said about dating sites for singles looking for marriage? — free dating & apps |:

  • Never move money under any framing, because the alternative wastes weeks.
  • Keep the first meeting short and public, which matters most on long-term matching apps.
  • Set a daily time limit, and doubly so for the broad user base.
  • Give a platform three weeks before judging it, and doubly so for the broad user base.
  • Put something concrete in the opener — nothing else moves the numbers as reliably.

Picking one platform and sticking with it turned it from a chore into something workable and nothing else came close.

What actually frustrates me is that the verification flow resets every time the app updates, which is the real problem with long-term matching apps.

In practice, the gap between how recently a profile was active and the price of the subscription is where match quality is actually decided, and the sample size here is basically one.

Worth a look at Datelink as well — free to browse and message, which is the main thing.

Going to be the dissenting voice. @HarperH, the profile-quality point held for a fortnight then stopped.

The bit that keeps catching me out is that the search function exists mainly to push you toward an upgrade, which is the real problem with long-term matching apps.

Something worth knowing: how specific you're about what you want outweighs the boost you paid for in the dating sites for singles looking for marriage? — free dating & app specifically context.

The non-negotiables for the broad user base:

  • Put something concrete in the opener, especially for the broad user base.
  • Write the bio for one person, not everyone — with dating sites for singles looking for marriage? — free dating & apps | this is the difference-maker.
  • Give a platform three weeks before judging it — with dating sites for this is the difference-maker.
  • Screenshot anything odd before blocking, especially for the broad user base.

Someone pointed me at Datedesire if you're building a shortlist.

Not claiming this is universal on the dating sites for question.
