Right — real online dating sites for free? — safety & verification | datingfly. since the spring in, the useful part surprised me.

The thing I didn't expect was that the onboarding boost buries you the moment you stop checking daily.

Broadly, how consistently you show up outweighs the app's star rating for people without a niche, but people in bigger cities tell me the opposite.

For anyone who has used apps that do not charge recently:

  • Has anyone had the reverse happen where the verification question is concerned?
  • Has anyone tested this recently for anyone starting out?
  • Is there a way to check before signing up if you are dealing with the verification question?
  • Has anyone compared the two directly when the verification question is the main worry?

If you have opinions on real online dating sites for free? — safety & verification | datin, especially unpopular ones, go ahead.

My experience was almost the opposite. @Chloe Thompson, the framing around people without a niche may have been better luck than most get.

How long you leave a conversation running explains more of how satisfied you're after a month than the number of prompts you filled in ever did in the real online dating sites for free? — safety & verification | datingfly context.

As far as I can tell, when the verification question is the issue, the quality of your first message matters more than which tier you're on.

Cutting the match list right down made conversations last past the first exchange and nothing else came close.

Take what is useful and leave the rest at least on the the verification question side.

The pattern I keep seeing is that the willingness to suggest meeting early explains more of match quality than the size of the company behind it ever did when it comes to real online dating.

Deleting everything and starting over made a bigger difference than switching platforms, which surprised me.

Been running EZHookups in parallel if you are testing a few at once.

Seconding this — @Aubrey Hall, the profile-quality point is the part people miss.

More often than not, nothing changes whether it feels worth the time as much as the size of the pool within ten miles.

For a straight comparison, Datebound and the activity level was better than I expected.

For anyone starting out, the willingness to suggest meeting early tends to decide the proportion of real accounts you see for people without a niche.

Is that still true on apps that do not charge?

Opposite for me, oddly. @Aubrey Hall, the argument about verification worked in a big city and nowhere else.

On apps that do not charge, cutting the match list right down stopped the conversations dying at day two once the verification question was the priority.

Broadly, nothing changes the proportion of real accounts you see as much as local activity levels, but people in bigger cities tell me the opposite for anyone starting out.

Datenest came up in a similar thread if you are building a shortlist.

On apps that don't charge, dropping the filters made conversations last past the first exchange on apps that don't charge.

For what it is worth, nothing changes match quality as much as whether you actually read the profile.

What nobody mentions is that the messaging limit gives you no idea when an account was last opened — and nobody mentions it when they talk about the verification question.

A few things worth doing on apps that do not charge:

  • Write the bio for one person, not everyone, and doubly so for people without a niche.
  • Write the bio for one person, not everyone, particularly on apps that do not charge.
  • Set a daily time limit, especially for people without a niche.

I'd add Datewander if you're testing a few at once.
